OXENDINE THIS MORNING. INVESTIGATORS SAY SOMEONE TOOK
HER FROM SCOTLAND COUNTY
OVERNIGHT. THAT’S NEAR FAYETTEVILLE, ALONG
THE SOUTH CAROLINA STATE LINE. AN INMATE STABS ANOTHER INMATE
TO DEATH AT A STATE PRISON JUST
WEST OF THE TRIAD. THIS AFTERNOON, THAT PRISON IS
ON LOCKDOWN. THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY
SAYS 33-YEAR-OLD CHRISTOPHER
PARKER WAS STABBED LAST NIGHT
WITH A HOMEMADE WEAPON. IT HAPPENED DURING A FIGHT IN A
HOUSING UNIT AT ALEXANDER
CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION. PARKER WAS RUSHED TO THE
HOSPITAL, WHERE HE DIED FROM HIS
INJURIES. LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AND THE
STATE ARE INVESTIGATING. NEW AT NOON, A ROCKINGHAM COUNTY
MAN IS ACCUSED OF HITTING A
PATROL CAR AND DRIVING OFF. DAVID BLACKWELL IS IN JAIL, HE
HIT A DEPUTIES CRUISER ON GROOMS
ROAD. DEPUTIES TRIED TO STOP HIM AFTER
THE CRASH BUT HE SPED OFF. HE ENDED UP CRASHING INTO A
TRACTOR-TRAILER ON HIGHWAY 29. HE WAS CAUGHT AFTER A SHORT FOOT
CHASE. THE CASE HAS BEEN CONTINUED
UNTIL DECEMBER 5 FOR A FORMER
IFB SOLUTIONS EMPLOYEE ACCUSED
OF HAVING INAPPROPRIATE SEXUAL
CONTACT WITH A TEENAGER SHOULD
BE IN COURT TODAY. THAT TEEN HAS DOWN SYNDROME. JOHN CALDWELL JUNIOR WORKED AT

SOLUTIONS. THAT COMPANY TOLD US, A
BACKGROUND CHECK DID NOT RAISE
ANY RED FLAGS. TEACHERS MAY SOON SEE A PAY
INCREASE. STATE LAWMAKERS HAVE REVEALED A
NEW PROPOSAL, WHICH IS SEPARATE
