Tucker: Warren’s plan for US workers sounds like ‘Trump at his best’

SPEECH. GOOD NIGHT FROM NORMANDY. WE WILL BE BACK IN THE MORNING.>>♪ ♪>>Tucker: WELCOME TO TUCKER CARLSON TONIGHT. BACK WHEN HE WAS A STAR ON MSNBC, THIS SHOW WAS WARNING AMERICA ABOUT THE CREEPY PORN LAWYER. NOW HE COULD BE DISBARRED. FIRST TONIGHT LET’S BEGIN WITH AN EXPERIMENT. WHAT IS THE REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP IN WASHINGTON BOTHERED TO LEARN THE LESSONS OF THE 2016 ELECTION? WHAT THIS THEY CARED ENOUGH TO DO THAT? WHAT THIS THEY UNDERSTOOD AND EMBRACED THE ECONOMIC NATIONALISM THAT WAS AT THE HEART OF DONALD TRUMP’S PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN? WHAT WOULD THE WORLD LOOK LIKE NOW 2.5 YEARS LATER? REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS WOULD BE SAYING THINGS LIKE THIS: “I AM DEEPLY GRATEFUL FOR THE OPPORTUNITIES AMERICA HAS GIVEN ME.” COMPANIES WAVE THE FLAG BUT HAVE NO LOYALTY TO AMERICA. LEVI’S OPERATES ONLY 2% OF THEIR COMPANY HERE. PENCIL PRODUCTION WAS MOVED TO MEXICO AND CHINA AND GENERAL ELECTRIC SHUTDOWN A FACTORY IN WISCONSIN AND SHIPPED THE JOBS TO CANADA. THE LIST GOES ON AND ON. THESE AMERICAN COMPANIES SHOW ONLY ONE REAL LOYALTY. TO THE SHORT TERM INTEREST OF THEIR SHAREHOLDERS, A 3rd OF WHOM ARE ATTORNEY INVESTORS. THEY SHIP JOBS OVERSEAS TO SAVE A NICKEL THEY WILL ABANDON LOYAL AMERICAN WORKERS. POLITICIANS LOVE TO SAY THEY CARE ABOUT AMERICAN JOBS, BUT THOSE SAME POLITICIANS HAVE CITED FREE MARKET PRINCIPLES AND REFUSED TO INTERVENE FOR AMERICAN WORKERS. THEY PROTECT THE INTEREST OF MULTI–NATIONAL COOPERATIONS. MILLIONS OF GOOD JOBS LOST OVERSEAS AND A GENERATION OF STAGNANT WAGES. IF WASHINGTON WANTS TO PUT A STOP TO THIS, IT CAN. IF WE WANT FASTER GROWTH AND MORE GOOD AMERICAN JOBS, THEN OUR GOVERNMENT SHOULD DO WHAT OTHER LEADING NATIONS DO AND ACT AGGRESSIVELY TO ACHIEVE GOALS INSTEAD OF CATERING TO THE FINANCIAL INTEREST OF COMPANIES THAT HAVE NO ALLEGIANCE TO AMERICA. WASHINGTON POLICIES ARE A KEY DRIVER OF THE PROBLEMS AMERICAN WORKERS FACE. FROM TRADE AGREEMENTS TO TAX CODE WE ENCOURAGE COMPANIES TO DO BUSINESS OVERSEAS AND KEEP WAGES LOW. IT’S EASIER AND EASIER TO SHIFT CAPITAL AND JOBS FROM ONE COUNTRY TO ANOTHER. THAT’S WHY OUR COUNTRY HAS TO CARE MORE ABOUT DEFENDING AND CREATING AMERICAN JOBS AND NOT LESS. WE CAN NAVIGATE THE WAY AHEAD MAKING AMERICAN WORKERS OUR HIGHEST PRIORITY. LET’S SAY YOU REGULARLY VOTE REPUBLICAN. ASK YOURSELF: WHAT PART OF THE STATEMENT YOU JUST HEARD DID YOU DISAGREE WITH? WAS THERE A SINGLE WORD THAT SEEMED WRONG TO YOU? PROBABLY NOT. HERE’S THE DEPRESSING PART: NOBODY YOU VOTED FOR WOULD EVER SAY. THAT REPUBLICANS WOULD NOT PROMISE TO PROTECT AMERICAN INDUSTRY. IT MIGHT ALIENATE THE LIB TIREIANS. A REPUBLICAN DID NOT SAY THAT. SADLY. INSTEAD. THE WORDS YOU JUST HEARD ARE FROM SENATOR ELIZABETH WARREN OF MASSACHUSETTS. IT’S TRUE. YESTERDAY WARREN RELEASED HER PLAN FOR ECONOMIC PATRIOTISM. THAT’S WHAT IT IS. THIS IS NOT A WORD ABOUT IDENTITY POLITICS IN THE DOCUMENT. NO HYSTERICS ABOUT GUN CONTROL OR CLIMATE CHANGE OR ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. IT’S JUST ABOUT PRESERVING GOOD PAYING AMERICAN JOBS. MANY OF WARREN’S POLICIES MAKE OBVIOUS SENSE. THE U.S. GOVERNMENT SHOULD BUY AMERICAN PRODUCTS AND IT SHOULD. WE NEED MORE WORKPLACE APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMS. WE SEE AMERICAN COMPANIES TAKE RESEARCH AND USE IT TO MANUFACTURE PRODUCTS OVERSEAS LIKE APPLE DID WITH THE iPHONE. SHE SOUNDS LIKE DONALD TRUMP AT HIS BEST. WHO IS THIS ELIZABETH WARREN YOU ASK? WELL, NOT THE GUN GRABBING ABORTION EXTREMIST YOU THOUGHT YOU KNEW. ELIZABETH WARREN IS STILL ALL OF THOSE THINGS TOO. THAT’S THE PROBLEM. NOT JUST FOR ELIZABETH WARREN BUT WITH AMERICAN POLITICS. IN WASHINGTON ALMOST NOBODY SPEAKS FOR THE MAJORITY OF VOTERS. YOU ARE EITHER A LIBERTARIAN ZEALOT CONTROLLED BY THE BANKS TALKING ABOUT CUTTING ENTITLEMENT. OR WORSE YOU ARE A DECK TRUST FUND SOCIALIST. WHAT THERE IS NOT IS A CAUCUS THAT REPRESENTS FROM MOST AMERICANS ARE. FAIRLY TRADITIONAL ON THE SOCIAL ISSUES. IMAGINE A POLITICIAN WHO WANTED TO MAKE YOUR HEALTH CARE CHEAPER BUT WAS NOT EXCITED ABOUT PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION AND RESPECTED THE NUCLEAR FAMILY BUT WAS WILLING TO TAKE YOUR SIDE AGAINST CREDIT CARD COMPANIES BLEEDING YOU DRY AT 35% INTEREST. WOULD YOU VOTE FOR SOMEBODY LIKE THAT? OF COURSE YOU WOULD. WHO WOULDN’T? THAT CANDIDATE WILL BE ELECTED IN A LANDSLIDE. EVERY SINGLE TIME. YET THAT CANDIDATE IS THE OPPOSITE OF EVERYONE CURRENTLY SERVING IN OUR CONGRESS. OUR LEADERSHIP CLASS REMAINS LIBERTARIAN. COMMITTED TO THE RHETORIC OF MARKETS WHICH IT SERVES THEM. LIBERTINE ON QUESTIONS OF CULTURE. REPUBLICANS WILL LECTURE ABOUT PAY DAY LOAN SCAMS. JUST LAST WEEK THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION ANNOUNCED A NEW WAY TO PROTECT AMERICAN WORKERS FROM THE TIDAL WAVE OF CHEAP 3rd WORLD LABOR FLOODING THIS COUNTRY. WE WILL IMPOSE TARIFFS ON ALL MEXICAN GOODS. THAT IS WHAT YOU MIGHT PROPOSE TO PROTECT YOUR COUNTRY. THE DEMOCRATS OPPOSED. IT THEY DON’T PRETEND TO CARE ABOUT AMERICAN PEOPLE. HERE’S WHAT REPUBLICANS SAY.>>YOU TALK TO ALL OF OUR MEMBERS, WE ARE NOT FANS OF TARIFFS. WE HOPE THIS CAN BE AVOIDED.>>Tucker: WE ARE NOT FANS OF TERRORISTS. — TARIFFS. IMAGINE A MORE INFURIATING RESPONSE. YOU CAN’T BECAUSE THERE IS NOT ONE. MITCH MCCONNELL SAID THIS MIGHT WORK IN PRACTICE BUT WE ARE AGAINST IT BECAUSE IT DOESN’T WORK IN THEORY. THAT’S THE REPUBLICAN PARTY

  • JACK WILLIAMS says:

Nonsense. Tired of this "look out for the little guy" populist silliness. I'm for Free-market Capitalism, not socialism, protectionism, or anything else. Free markets.

  • Nobody has the backbone to accomplish anything political.  Its all just keep the status quo…and why not, the last time a president tried to stand up to the powers that be…Kennedy got assassinated.

  • Sadly the politics Tucker talks about have been taboo due to insane madmen more than half a century ago. But the policies themselves are sound…

  • Thank you.

I am not even sure they notice. They seem to be caught in small chambers of thought and petty conflict. Yes, free trade is great in theory if all countries are allies, respect human rights, are friends. We have to move in that direction in principle. You cannot have free trade with dictatorships and surely, friends should understand that the american people can't just pay for everything – there should never be trade wars with Europe but even there we have to correct for problems. Similarly for socialism. If you have a small commune of buddies sharing, that works. As long as there are social connections and no coercion. Every scaled up socialist system is authoritarian and a dictatorship (maybe there is an exception somewhere?). The power does not lie with the citizen but with bureaucrats.

I think Bannon pushed the use of the term nationalism. I don't think that was a good move. I suspect he just needed a polar opposite for "globalism" but that is not how the word is understood. Warren replaces it with patriotism and says the same things. To me nationalism has negative connotations and it would have been perfectly fine not to use it. Will be interesting to see if any politician points out that they say the same thing but Bannon and Trump are vilified.

  • The left constantly wants to increase wages. When you force a pay increase beyond what the labor is really worth you end up having to raise the wages of workers that make more then minimum wage.
No one is going to do factory work for the same cost as a 16 year old flipping burgers
Companies respond by shipping manufacturing to places that are cheap.
Dont like that amwrican companies leave the US? Dont vote left!

  • Tis not just the American companies abandoning their core people.
Every business with shareholders does that now.
I am a gamer and we see it clearly in the gaming industry, they are ditching quality in their games in favor of catering to a small section of players we call "whales" that are willing to drop 10,000$ in a game for microtransactions. They are abandoning their core audience, because whales aren't gamers, they pay to not have to game. 😀
You also see it in the movie industry, they will make this cheap movie and use dishonest tactics to market it, like generating controversy by saying it's a feminist movie.
Edit: Did Warren begin watching youtube videos ?

  • I get that manufacturing jobs and artisan jobs or just anything you can do with your hands for a living is a better, more fulfilling way to make a living and beats out the miserable 90 hour, cubicle tech job that pays you $200k a year but slowly rots your soul away job but theres always a better, less regulated, less tax invasive, way that is also a free market plan. I like tucker on many things but he’s just flat wrong here regarding tariffs or allowing the type of politician he wants to trust, total control over our economy. What happens when you give total control to the guy you trust and turns around and becomes the next Hugo Chavez or Fidel Castro? Those are extreme examples but valid nonetheless.

  • I agree…same in the UK….. the Marxists in our society are hell bent on destroying British jobs. Tariffs are required to redress the balance.

  • Elizabeth Warren makes this statement while many of the major corporations that support her are left leaning in their own politics because they are supported by the democratic party that helps them increase regulations to suppress competition by smaller companies that are more agile than they are. She is an oxymoron in her campaign.

  • The only guy on MSM i'd watch. Unfortunately got rid of my tv because I was sick of all the rest of the garbage.

  • Warrior US 11 says:

That's why it's difficult to buy American products. You think you are buying American, but it's all made overseas. President Trump is trying to bring companies back, but it's hard when these companies claim to be American, but have sold us out quietly for years. Tucker basically covered all logical points in this video.

  • Danny Landrum says:

Sorry, but gun-hating, culture-appropriating Lia-A-Watha will never be president, notwithstanding some of her good ideas. This video is spot on exactly correct.

  • GOP doesn’t give two shits about economic equality… that’s the give away that’s it’s a politician that actually cares about the “little people.”

  • Jordan Cotter says:

1:35 What's his basis for describing them as "short-term" interests rather than simply "interests"? What makes it short-term?

  • Jordan Cotter says:

He mentions "loyalty" a lot. There's no particular reason why a company would be "loyal" to any country. The aim shouldn't be to gain "loyalty". If you want business here in America. Make conditions that are favorable to business. Other countries have so that's where they go. It's very simple. U.S. still benefits from cheaper goods and services when companies are able to operate more efficiently wherever they are.

  • Jordan Cotter says:

3:19 "We can navigate the changes ahead if we embrace economic patriotism and make American workers our highest priority…" …"Now let's say you regularly vote Republican… Which part of the statement..did you disagree with? Was there a single word that seemed wrong to you? Probably not."

I generally vote Republican and yes, there a part I disagreed with and it did happen to be a single word: "workers". Let's try this instead. "…make Americans our highest priority…" Doesn't that sound better? Why would workers be our highest priority? Why would we elevate them over the rest of Americans? No, the government should not prioritize one group over another, it should look after the interests of all Americans, or as the Constitution puts it "promote the general welfare"

  • Donald Trump's GDP is a big Bernie Madoff balloon filed with debt and polluted air. That balloon is gonna burst soon, hurting not the riches because they will have taken there protections, blue colored John and Mary will be paying the prize.

  • He is right. This IS why Republicans keep losing. I also agree with Tucker when he talks about the ideal political candidate

  • Trump was a rejection of politicians as a while, not just left wing ones. That's why so many Republican politicians are never trumpers. He doesn't play their game either. And that's why they don't like him.

  • Tucker even though you have always been wealthy and don’t know what it’s like to struggle, at no fault of your own, I’m really starting to like you.

  • See here little timmy, what's happening is that America's protectionist right is discovering it has a natural ally in America's statist left.

  • Trump started this thinking and used his bully pulpit to preach America first (first). He is like a Bible prophet…

  • Elizabeth Warren used to be a maverick who could convince me that she meant some of that but if she really believed any of that she would have supported Trump in his efforts to protect American workers. She wants to import hondurans to get votes and make the Koch brothers happy. She is Hillary Clinton II and did polling to find out what American voters wanted to hear and she won't follow through with a single part of that. Trump already is fighting for the American workers for real, why mess with a sure thing?

  • Not sure criminalizing pot and thereby making more than half the country at one point or another into a criminal is a good idea, I don’t think this makes me a libertarian zealot- probably just a nitpick

  • Rapid economic growth is good, but unsustainable. If the government steps in, it could have a long term negative effect. Tucker often mocks how other countries do things, yet it's a minor justification he threw in to defend the idea of government intervention.

  • I'm so sorry I missed the golden age of libertarian-ism when Ron Paul won the Presidency and John McCain and Mitt Romney wanted to abolish the fed. What the hell is he talking about?

  • Patrick Flynn says:

And tucker is the only one that bro ha this up and gives her credit? The dems refuse to talk about American workers . As usual

  • I love American products, and buy when I can. If USA wants to have more ‘made in America’, people will need to accept that they will need to accept that they may need to change their standard of living, though. Made in America products are expensive; not the same as over priced, just expensive compared to ‘made in China, or name another country that make products using cheap labor’.

I’ll give you an example. Small time farmers sell chicken for about 4$/lb, so a chicken to feed a family of 4-5 costs about 16$. It’s expensive, but not over price. That is how much a chicken should cost. However, big companies raise chickens in awful conditions, and sell one chicken for about $5. The interesting thing is that the 16$ chicken from a local farmer actually is better quality, noticeably so. I believe the same is with many other products ‘Made in America’, but not guaranteed of course.

  • Smithers Release the hounds says:

This is why I've always liked Tucker, for all his faults. He truly calls it like he sees it. The vast majority of America is anti war, favors LEGAL immigration, and hates the corruption triangle of massive corporations, the MIC and govt bureaucracy at every level. Any candidate who spoke to those truths would crush the competition… If they were allowed to survive, or weren't done in by scandal. We are at a very dangerous place in our history, where small moves will have long lasting effects for those who follow. We must step forward and expose the cabal that wants to keep us in mental chains..

  • Argh, Tucker you were so close on this one! If our monetary policy wasn't so incredibly screwed up, the cost of doing business in the USA wouldn't be an incentive for these corporations to move jobs overseas. End the Federal Reserve and government price controls, expand Right to Work states, and we would be off to a good start!

  • Brock Sealster says:

CNN, MSNBC and the rest of the liberal media would never have an episode like this showing the good and bad of both sides. Great job Tucker.

  • McConnell supporting tariffs because they work in practice but not in theory.
I've been a libertarian a long time because they didn't work in theory. But now that I see they do work in practice, and since I am not completely pig-headed I have changed my mind.

  • New Campaign Logo. "MAKE AMERICA GREATER" That's what it should be.. Raise the bar…
    "MAKE AMERICA GREATER"
If anyone here likes it Pass It Out Pronto people!!!

  • Charles Lumia says:

Mass immigration and garbage trade deals have stagnated wages, taken our jobs, and increased the cost of living dramatically since 1965. Politicians push for more of it because they and their buddies benefit from it. They have been making money hand over fist.

  • RICHARD GAYNOR says:

The question is why NO Republican politicians recognize the importance of Tucker's message. Term limits NOW!

  • And let's ignore the fact that Trump is enriching himself on the taxpayer's dime… Did you know that American taxpayers now have to foot the $3.6 million bill that Trump's Irish golf resort is charging for its owner's accommodation? Not if you watch Fox…

  • BrooklynRedLeg says:

What bizarro planet are you on, Tucker, to claim Republicans are wedded to Austrian Economics? Seriously, eat satchel of richards you mendacious douche.

  • [Grand Emperor] Nathanos Hausladen says:

If Tucker had even a basic understanding of economics he would understand that trade barriers, immigration barriers and in general barriers on the means of production always and always have failed and have just ended out hurting a nation's economy.

  • working class father says:

Kick out Zionists and start taking care of our working ppl! Socially conservative and fiscally liberal 👊

  • “From the right we must take nationalism without capitalism and from left, socialism without internationalism”

  • "I believe in economic rights for all Americans, except not immigrants, transgendered people, doobie smokers, libs, or intellectuals" jee thanks Tucker, I feel so much better…

  • i might end up voting for her sinve trump hasnt delivered on infrastructure or healthcare, has been escalating with iran and has filled his cabinet with neocons. i really dont want to vote for her but republicans have played a big part in looting this country

  • I love Elizabeth Warren. She's brilliant and really does want to fix the economics for the middle class Americans.

  • The Koch brothers have given libertarians a bad name. Libertarianism used to mean classical liberalism, ie the ideology of Adam Smith, John Lock, Thomas Jefferson and Thomas Paine. And, more recently, the anti-interventionist stance of politicians like Ron Paul. Libertarianism is fundamentally anti-monopoly. Adam Smith says the only role of government in the economy is to break up monopolies. But the most oppressive monopoly is the government itself because it has a monopoly on the use of force, so therefore it must be kept limited at all costs. Somewhere along the lines we have forgotten this.

  • Justine Brown's Bookshelf says:

Social conservatism plus policies that actually benefit the working class— a winning combination widely feared by the left. This is why they went after Trump so hard in 2016.

  • ams bestunderstanding says:

McConnell is way past retirement….career politician.
Ryan, Rubio, both were groomed to be puppets of the RINOs in control. Ryan's gone, but there are plenty of lap dogs willing to kiss up for favor…Romney, can't seem to muster anything positive for America 1st, etc. President Trump loves America, but at best, we have a reprieve from Dems until 2024, then what?
We had the Senate & House & White House for the 1st 2yrs of President Trump's administration, but instead of working with him & making the most of reforming immigration, building a much needed border wall, repealing Ocare, etc., the RINOs dug in & sabotaged POTUS at nearly every step, & leftist judges blocked the President repeatedly!
No one can preserve American jobs with corrupt unions in charge, and no average person in my neighborhood can afford to "buy American" for most things! We also can't afford to let American inventions & tech be stolen or given to Communist China.
What's the answer? Not Warren, & not anyone who is willing to strip Americans of self defense while screaming for open borders, & certainly not RINOs! Vote out RINOs. Vote for people who truly love this country! TRUMP2020MAGA.

  • Sadly with the "free market capitalism" corporations are free to do what they want including exporting jobs, outlined by mainly Republicans. Dems however want gov regulations such as protecting jobs and prevent americans from being cheated.

  • I‘ve never agreed more with Tucker Carlson. If he would also care about the environment we would already have a lot in common. I wan‘t everybody to earn a decent salary & care for tradition. I just feel like this only works if the government regulates the economy more and we tax the rich higher. Otherwise the cooperations and the rich will keep making huge amounts of money and influence the system so they benefit from it.

  • johnvannewhouse says:

OMIGOD WE'VE MOVED ALMOST ALL OUR PENCIL PRODUCTION TO MEXICO AND CHINA!!!! THE END IS NIGH!!!! If you think that we should be making pencils here in America rather than outsourcing it to either of those countries, you are an idiot. As Tucker is.
