The biggest news out of Google I/O | TECH(feed)

hey everyone welcome back to tech feed
I’m Juliet Beauchamp and today I’m diving into some of the highlights from Google
i/o last week so stick around during the keynote speech at Google’s annual
developer conference last Tuesday CEO sundar Pichai announced a variety of
upgrades and changes to existing Google products they’re rich in just a chrome
nest Google Assistant Android and the Google pixel if Google makes it it seems
likely that there’s upgrades coming soon all of these changes have generated a
lot of buzz and some changes occurred the privacy theme that many tech
companies have adopted recently notably Facebook’s developer conference a couple
weeks ago took on the theme of user privacy following a series of data
scandals at Facebook but enough about them let’s dive into some of the
announcements from Google i/o first up let’s talk about the new Android cue
features a long-awaited an hyped up feature of this new OS will be dark mode
yes finally you can scroll through your phone without a glaring white background
another cool feature is live captioning now any video you watch on an Android
including videos you can record yourself can be captioned in real time and
relating back to that privacy themed Android cue has a dedicated privacy tab
in settings there’s also new gestures to navigate around and in between apps they
might take some getting used to but rest assured they’re said to be easier than
current gestures another huge announcement from Google i/o is the
pixel 3a and this is big Google’s new mid-range pixel phone brings a lot of
classic pixel traits like camera quality but compared to Google’s flagship pixel
phones and the flagship phones of competitors like Samsung and Apple the
pixel 3a is priced pretty modestly the pixel 3a costs $399 and the pixel 3a
Excel costs 479 when you compare that to the $1000 price of a Samsung Galaxy or
iPhone the pixel 3a seems like a steal for more detailed reviews about the 3a
though check out the links below and coming along with that pixel 3a is a
revamped and incredibly smart google assistant that processes data locally
instead of sending it to a data center that means Google assistant will
faster and you’ll have the ability to use it offline plus pixel 3a comes with
Google’s promise of three years of security updates other big news from
Google i/o focuses on the privacy theme that I mentioned earlier chrome will
limit third-party cookies which means users will be tougher to track on the
web plus incognito mode will be coming to Google Maps okay that was a lot of
information I hope I didn’t lose you but if I did we’ll have some links in the
description that dive deeper into each of these topics thanks for watching this
episode of tech feed if you liked this video be sure to give it a thumbs up and
subscribe to our Channel and let me know what newly announced features you’re
looking forward to you the most see you next time
