Sustainable Investment Forum 2019 | The Edge Singapore

The UN has come up with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and they have a practice where you can find as a corporate – align your practices, your objectives, your polices with the SDGs. And that’s a fantastic framework.  So there’s a plethora of standards out there.  It’s important to take a moment, study all of them,  and realise what’s the best fit for you and how can that be adapted for the industry or sector or strategy that you’re in.  The environmental, social and governance research industry has grown tremendously and now you have probably more than a thousand analysts just focused on sustainability data.  The key is to look deeper into the data.  You don’t want to use aggregate data.  You need to dig in and look at each company  and why they are rated the way they are,   and use as much fundamental and granular data as possible to make your investment decisions.
