Sleigh All Day – The New News

(Music) Hello and welcome to America’s favorite
government news show, The New News. I’m your host Chelsey, but if I were a feline, I’d be Cat Benatar. Speaking of cats, when I was little I thought when they won an
award it was called a catastrophe. You know, cat has trophy. And now Gail
Donaldson has trophy because our very own Water Conservation Manager was just
awarded the EPA WaterSense Award for Excellence in Education and Outreach. Now
that’s what The Waterboy would call some high quality H2O award.
They say Allen Public Library is tall because it has so many stories. But so
too does Allen. If you haven’t checked out our Stories of Service highlights on
City services, now is a good time to take a gander. And if you’ve had a great
interaction with a City employee or service, we would love to hear about it.
Drop us a line, give us a jingle or just playing holla at us.
Thanksgiving is here and our refrigerator is about to get a workout.
So in preparation, I’ve been brushing up on my Tetris skills. Due to the turkey
day holiday, some City facilities may be closed or have adjusted hours. It’s best
to call ahead before visiting, then get right back to your feast. As a wise
singer once sang, “Turkey lurkey do and turkey lurkey dap, I eat that turkey then
I take a nap.” Now I’ve seen a monkey around and I’ve seen a pig out but I’ve
never seen a turkey skate, until now. At The 8th Annual Great Turkey Skate, if
you donate two non-perishable items, you get a free skate rental. There will be
fun Thanksgiving-themed games and activities, including turkey bowling. Cool.
I’ve seen a pony up and a dog gone and now I get to see a turkey bowl.
Most people think Rudolph learned how to fly at flight school, but that’s not true.
He was elf taught. The Rudolph Run is back. You can choose from the .5k and 1-mile Donner Fun Runs, or the Rudolph Run 5k. Either way, all the
runners will be wet from sweat, but Rudolph will be wet because he’s a
rain deer. That one sleighs at the North Pole. And
you can slay a AllenNews.org to see additional info. Then flirt with
that follow button on our social media accounts.
And crush our YouTube channel subscribe button. That’s gonna do it. Cat Benatar
has hit you with her best shot. We’ll see you next time. (Music)
