Saturday’s Brexit vote in 90 seconds

Saturday’s Brexit vote in 90 seconds

Do you have the numbers to pass
your deal today, prime minister? The ayes to the right, 322,
the noes to the left, 306. So the ayes have it, the ayes have it.
Unlock. I will not negotiate a delay with the EU
and neither does the law compel me to do so. Today is a historic day for parliament
because it said it will not be blackmailed by a prime minister
who is apparently prepared once again, to defy a law passed
by this parliament. Any failure of a prime minister
who thinks he’s above the law. Well prime minister, you’ll
find yourself in court. The people who are outside this building
right now will be heard and they deserve the final say along
with millions across the country. So the most urgent thing right now
Mr Speaker, is that the prime minister
complies with the law.

  • i honestly have no clue whats going on i just like watching parliament argue with their sly remarks, back handed compliments and shouting.. it really is the best show on youtube

  • Boris’ “deal” is a trap locking us into the EU, stopping us controlling our own coastal waters, foreign policy and tax rates! Reject this deal! No deal and WTO the only option!

  • Johnson said he will send the letter to the EU requesting another extension as required by Law tonight. He should resign tomorrow. Let's get this over with quickly for a change.

  • The UK is a representative democracy—the people can only be “heard” by voting in MPs. A referendum should never have happened in the first place—it was asking for trouble—but asking for another is asking for greater trouble. The people spoke, the politicians heard and have spent years messing around—leaving is the democratic thing to do, and not messing around with more referendums may just settle the UK.

RESOLUTION OF 15 JULY 1947, AMENDED ON 6 NOVEMBER 1995 AND 14 MAY 2002: CONDUCT OF MEMBERS
"It is inconsistent with the dignity of the House, with the duty of a Member to his constituents, and with the maintenance of the privilege of freedom of speech, for any Member of this House to enter into any contractual agreement with an outside body, controlling or limiting the Member's complete independence and freedom of action in Parliament or stipulating that he shall act in any way as the representative of such outside body in regard to any matters to be transacted in Parliament; the duty of a Member being to his constituents and to the country as a whole, rather than to any particular section thereof and that in particular no Member of the House shall, in consideration of any remuneration, fee, payment, reward or benefit in kind, direct or indirect, which the Member or any member of his or her family has received, is receiving, or expects to receive—
    (i)  advocate or initiate any cause or matter on behalf or any outside body or individual, or
(ii)  urge any other Member of either House of Parliament, including Ministers, to do so,
by means of any speech, Question, Motion, introduction of a Bill or amendment to a Motion or Bill, or any approach, whether oral or in writing, to Ministers or servants of the Crown

  • most EU migrants do better within the first year than most brexiteers ever done in their life's that's why they want to stop highly qualified EU migration and replace it with commonwealth migrants 🤫 brexit xenophobia is driven by jealousy and the deprived social status of the brexiteers 🤒 clever 🐍 oil salesman are successfully using brexiteers to undermine this country for the benefit of USAmerica who will flood UK market with their trash they can't sell to no other developed country 🤫

  • Boris's deal wont pass, down to 2 reasons.

1: This deal is nearly identical to Mays deal, which was rejected 3 times.
2: The politicians think that they can get a better deal, which is impossible because the EU hold all the cards.

Everyone needs to realise that it will either be a No deal Brexit or No Brexit at all, which needs to be decided upon sooner or later because the economy will keep on falling, and even more problems will arise.

  • Boris's deal will pass because the hardliners wanted her out above all else so they can get 'no deal' down the line, which the new deal although similar makes legally possible.

  • 'Saturdays brexit vote In one minute in one minute'. I m not a native English speaker,so I just thought it's a kind of grammar. Haha

  • If Boris can send two letters in violation of the law, then surely we can legally have two national opinion polls aka referenda. Something advisory can be ill-advised and revised.

  • this is said on every single one of your videos … STOP with the terrible and inappropriate backing music. people are going to review some of this footage in 10 years time and it’ll be equivalent to hearing 50s elevator music or something. it is bloody naff.

If Brexit were Japanese, he would simply make himself hara-kiri and die in silent torment. But no one will let him do it. A nightmare forever!

Last time I checked there was 3 million eu citizens in the uk;guess the 2 million who have already secured there future with the uk didnt bother turning up

  • Bring on the general election!
Right-wing anti-EU thug parties got a thorough drumming and kick in the backside in elections this year at various levels from local to President in Portugal, Slovakia, Eastern German states, Denmark, Austria, Hungary, Sweden etc

  • “We didn’t vote to leave without a deal. That wasn’t the message of the campaign I helped lead.” Michael Gove, written for the Daily Mail in March 2019

  • the trick: send a photocopy unsigned, to the EU + a letter signed, telling EU not grant xtension .
put little ber-COW in a can, ank cick the can down the road till oct 31.

    well done, Bojo !!!

  • This only have showed us Europeans how selfish and self centered British can be. This is about all the nation's in the EU and you can't stop delaying it because of your own internal problems and even making jokes about it. Best thing for Europe is that you finally leave. You are not different than any third world nation. You should be ashamed of your politicians and yourself. And be scared ! Because at least until now you were part of the EU but after this you will have those politicians and let's see who believes or invest in that country or think is relevant at all.

  • The Crown should have dissolved the parliament right after they showed their disability to act as per the will of the people. We would have been somewhere else by now.

  • The leaders of the EU should throw up Britain from the EU. 31. October at 00.00 Eu should close their borders for the UK! Otherwise, this neverending story will continue! Go, where you want to go for the last 3 years, please!!

  • How embarrassing. Basically they want to stall as long as possible to void the vote of the people. The EU should force a No Deal Brexit at this point. Kick their asses out.

  • So another week of Scottish courts, deceit and delay. Seriously Boris is so dishonest it worries me anyone can support him. He needs to go, article 50 extended and the new pm to lead a cross party consensus to negotiate a deal that no one can sensibly object to…as they all picked it! If that’s not possible, well then neither is brexit. You have to deal in realities rather than falsehood and passive aggressive threats

  • Looks like a peaceful solution to this problem may not be available. Shame the MP's refuse to listen to the will of the people.

I support freedom. Free The UK. Free Hong Kong.

  • I would vote leave if another referendum took place just because it would be funny to see all the pro stay people who are protesting fail again

  • I used to support Britain signing this new e.u treaty that mp,s are calling a deal but after the way the e.u has treated Britain in partnership with remain mp s here I think I would prefer a clean break brexit

  • Not Johnson lead a defeat , the voters for brexit did. The elite don't want the brexit the british people voted for. That's why it's still on the agenda. Great content for the media , so they also benefit. So the british people should think about who's in power in Britain … they , or the elites.

  • BREXIT = UK & USA ===) europe & world business war and military war . so UK friends be carefull, if Usa go to war, you have to go in war too !!!!

  • Labour intend to push for a 2nd referendum next week. If Parliament votes for that, democracy in the UK is TOTALLY BROKEN. Every vote from thereon can be disputed, ignored. or rerun
Voting becomes meaningless. Indeed Parliament has used a number of awful destructive tactics in recent weeks aimed specifically against those who voted for Brexit
Parliament is simply intent on "Destroying Democracy" by repeatedly delaying, and obstructing Brexit which was clearly demanded by voters in the 2016 referendun. Truly "Evil" behaviour by elected MPs

  • Go no deal That is the best play in this situation. Generals like Alexander the Great and Caesar would make that bold move to no deal now

  • Brexit is all about tax evasion imo, nothing to do with what the people want. Government isn't interested in border controls, customs, immigration – it's all about da money!!

  • The folks in our beloved kingdom must realize that there is only one option left. Nigel Dodds must become Prime Minister of "England". I am totally confident that in due course he will triumphantly negotiate a departure deal from the EU, and it will get overwhelming consideration – 10 FOR and 640 AGAINST!! Our future is certainly secure and rosey!

  • Boris send letters to e.u. by royal mail there pending a strike ,biding time for no deal 31/10/19.and complying with benn act.or get us out clear off to usa and claim diplomatic immunity or show your passport ,you were born there.

  • I am French and I must say that I look sadly at the country that invented individual freedom to enter the dictator … this country, the country of the magna carta, the habeas corpus, the glorious revolution of 1688 , this country which invented trade union and many other things ….. I see this country bound by a minority of british pro-euro politicians who refuse to obey, to respect the choice of their people, with or without agreement, they do not care … I see here everywhere the hand of this fascit europe, lobbying and corruption are the law in Brussels. it is here that we see the limits of British constitutional law …. in France the president can dissolve the national assembly … it is much more complicated for the British.
As I predicted the brexit is once again postponed, a situation irreparably blocked ….. the pro-euro want to revote until the vote is favorable ….. it is a new style of democracy!
Long live England, Long live BREXIT! (and long live FREXIT)

Vive l'Angleterre ! Vive le BREXIT ! (et vive le FREXIT)

  • The whole world knows the British people voted to leave the EU. Both British and EU politicians, for a million different nefarious reasons, want to ignore this and ensure we stay in. How will that work then?

  • Yes they won the referendum to leave the EU, fair and square. But doesnt give Boris the right to stop remainers having their say on what steps to take after leaving. That's dictatorship. What if the referendum was won to remain in the EU and people who voted to leave wasn't allowed to have a say on how the UK would carry on in the EU?. That's exactly what Boris is doing to the people who voted remain.
