The RTA School of Media at Ryerson
University is Canada’s premiere school in media production, media art
and broadcasting. It provides an incredible
opportunity to be creative with with industry-leading faculty
and alumni in three unique programs and one shared experience. RTA is about thinking, creating
and leading. Learning at RTA means
I have access to top-level faculty, instructors and experts. I can learn from the best, get
great advice and mentoring and also get industry
exposure for my work. Media Production has taught me
how to tell compelling stories, you’re learning how to create innovative
content across multiple platforms not just radio and TV.
New Media was the best place for me to combine my passion for
media art and technology, it allows me to experiment with things like robotics,
gaming and 3D printing. My dad is jealous I get to learn
about Sport Media in the former Maple Leaf Gardens. I get to
cover all the games in the state-of-the-art Sportsnet RTA
Production Centre. There are international exchanges,
trips to L.A., Las Vegas and Ghana hackathons, pitch competitions
and alumni panels. The RTA School of Media is one of
North America’s top interactive art and design programs. It’s four intense years with awesome professors who aren’t just your teachers, they
themselves are practitioner designers, digital media developers
and scholars so they’re always challenging with a huge
variety of creative projects. The RTA School of Media helped
give me a really broad understanding about the industry, but in particular it
gave me key understandings about production from beginning to end whether it be creative development all
the way through to the finished product. The great thing about the program is I think that you actually get practical experience you actually get not only the
theoretical side of broadcasting but you actually get to hold the camera actually
get to go out and do these stories Perhaps the best way Ryerson set me up for my career was that it’s located right in the middle of the media capital
of Canada so while I was at Ryerson I had part-time jobs at CTV and CFRB By the time I graduated not only
did I have a great education and a degree I had a pretty
good resume as well. and RTA grads are everywhere We deal with media professionals all
across the country and around the globe who are part of the growing
RTA network, growing because RTA is always changing, staying relevant
to the needs of today and tomorrow Students benefit from a collaborative
environment that promotes innovation through media like the Transmedia Zone,
an idea incubator. The New Media Makerspace, the state-of-the-art Sportsnet
RTA Production Center and the Allan Slaight
Radio Institute. Whether Sport Media, New Media
or Media Production, the shared experience of the
RTA School of Media at Ryerson University will take
