  • 1:23 they where holding there because of trafic, not because of "strugle". Also Special VFR is nothing special and is common with bad weather. So please stop acting up like it is all dangerous please

  • Thts bullshit first off why was Nine ppl on a compact helicopter and what part could fog have possible play and a helicopter crash y'all don't be thinking it's all bullshit ppl will believe anything

  • That is why some celebs or helicopter owners trying to learn how to fly these so that they are knowledgeable themselves. Pilot talking to the tower asking permissions as if everything is normal. Owner: God damn it, instructs pilot to slow down and fly South instead of West and take an emergency landing. No problem, I'm cancelling my meeting, at least we are safe.

  • This is creepy Kobe basketball number is 24 and his daughters is 2 add that together makes 26 and that's the day they died……

  • People who believe that video of a helicopter spiraling into a hill are just dumb that is a video of a helicopter crashing in Dubai research stuff before believing everything you see

  • This is in fact a horrific tragedy! This tragedy could have also been prevented in my opinion. In listening to the communication between air traffic controllers and the helicopters pilot I believe that the tone of the pilots voice showed no signs of problems with the helicopter other than his inability to see the ground clearly. Special permission or not, it is his choice to continue the flight. You're in a helicopter, land safely ANYWHERE. Attention!!โ€ฆ.. When the surrounding area government facilities, (Police, fire and rescue and forest service) aircraft are grounded due to poor weather and unsafe conditions, you probably want to find another means of transportation. I have witnessed to many accidents due to time constraints and the "Gotta get there" "or else" mentality. God bless all and be safe.

This is the pilot fault, you can't see you flying to low you in the mountains, come on now. This man had 20 years of experience. Then you crash into a mountain, I don't understand. R.i.p Kobe and his daughter and the rest of the families. The worse part is the bodies are still out there somewhere. So sad, start telling these famous people no, value your own life too.

  • This is not comparable to Michael Jackson..more like JFK's son, John Jr. He flew a private plane in conditions not good and died..the same way. Ppl it's ok to be a few minutes late…it's not worth your life to save minutes….to lose 40 years.

  • His death is a big tragedy to all of us. Bought myself his biography and it made even bigger impact. Legends will be remembered.

  • I read Kobe had his daughter in his arms when they managed to get to the bodies๐Ÿ’” i can't imagine what their final moments alive would of felt like. RIP

  • THIS crash site is enormous. These people crashed into the side of a mountain at 176 mph according to the data from the flight. Therefore these folks did not see it coming THANK GOD. The pilot was disoriented and frankly should never have been advised for 15 solid minutes to wait and to circle with 9 souls on board this helicopter. Everybody who witnessed it seems to agree that it was entirely too foggy to be flying. Even the la county police helicopters were grounded so how exactly was this permission to fly with special visual monitoring because they were too low to be seen on radar???? None of it makes sense. I mean it's easy in hindsight to see what happenned, it's just hard to understand why it was allowed to happen. Neither Kobe Bryant nor any of the others knew what happened to them though,I don't believe. Slamming into the ground at 180 mph is an instantaneous death and I just don't see how they could have known what happenned. That's the 1 THING that comforts me to know that those children had no clue what happenned, that it just happenned in an instant and that was it, they were gone. It's the saddest thing in the world. I lost my 30 year old beautiful daughter,so I know Vanessas pain, but I wasn't widowed simultaneously, and I didn't lose 6 other friends at the same time either. Tragic terrible news. May God bless and keep their families,ALL of them.

  • Tackle Berry985 says:

People shouldn't point fingers at the pilot or anyone. No one knows what was said, for him to request permission. Stop with the ignorant comments! It doesn't matter now. It was their time

  • If this is true. They have no right to put all these people in that position and put their lives in danger like this. Sickening. You my aswell made everyone play russian rollet. Stupid. I just wonder who made this desition. To make them fly in the fog. Could have been Kobe that made them fly in that crap. Its just sickening. Why in hell would you attempt to fly in that.

  • ThinkB4uSpeak 1 says:

Police & news outlet pilots were told not to fly. I saw an interview this morning with another one of Kobes pilots who said emphatically that Kobe NEVER pressured him to fly in bad weather. But this pilot was given clearance to fly. He didn't ask for it. He was given clearance to fly. Interesting. And last I checked radar can see through fog. I want to hear that Blackbox recording. Of course I never will because they said a helicopter as fancy as the one Kobe died on didn't have one. How convenient SMFH…

  • Asks special permission to kill himself and 7 other people. What was he thinking flying in fog?!! And why was he even given permission to do so? Missing a teenage basketball game is NOT even close to an emergency and NOT worth dying for. Pilot at fault 100%.

  • No matter how much money no pilot should fly when it's not safe. You can't spend that money if you're dead. RIP everyone involved.

  • listen to the ATC recording. Clearly pilot error. Why was he flying VFR in dense fog ? He should have aired on the side of caution and used his avionics at higher altitudes instead of VFR the entire trip.

Clearly at the end of the tape he descended from 1400 feet to 1200 lost the ability to communicate with So Cal ATC. The ATC operator says youโ€™re at 1200 ? …….. you need more altitude………. the signal was lost when he when over into the canyon. Which likely the pilot knew only after going into heavier fog …….. witnesses on the ground said he circled for a while before the accident. Likely to regain orientation, altitude and the ATC signal !

Pilot or not anyone who knows the area knows of those hills and the Santa Monica mountain ๐Ÿ” range north west of there ……… to me big the question is why wasnโ€™t he more aware of the area he was flying ?

  • Excuse me but I've been on planes where I couldn't see ๐Ÿ’ฉ but clouds. I'm sure the same was for the pilot. I say that to say: isn't that what radar is for? Not a pilot but just saying. Its not like driving on the street blind. Idk dont shoot me just thinking.

  • Rich entitled elitist arrogant ego maniacal Kobe who had it soooooo good while the rest of us struggle……is now dead

    Death has shamed Kobe
    Death has bitch slapped Kobe
    Death has humiliated Kobe
Death took everything away from Kobe instantly
Death showed Kobe whoโ€™s the real MAMBA

Now Snobnessa Bryant gon enjoy them $500 million dollaz

And now a bunch of NBA playaz gon be trying to marry Snobnessa Bryant

    Just wait and see

Lebron the GOAT ๐Ÿ got a good chance to marry Snobnessa Bryant cuz Snobnessa is all about that money and prestige

  • I cant wait for the final investigation. Something about that pilot intrigues me. RIP to the Beautiful souls onboard that flight.

  • I don't believe he requested that!! Dead men don't talk Satan is the ultimate deceiver. Los Angeles news/LOST ANGELS FAKE NEWS๐Ÿ˜’

  • Kobe's pilot was pretty clueless! He was completely disoriented and flew right into that hillside and killed everyone including himself. He was supposedly instrument rated? In super heavy fog conditions like that especially with topography of the area (I know it well!) I would have taken the helicopter to 2500 feet and headed due west towards Malibu and got out of that fog cover and landed safely at Pepperdine University. At that point Kobe and his guests could have taken a car service to Thousand Oaks for his daughters basketball. This crash was 100% pilot ERROR!

  • Freedom Hiker_CA says:

I hike a lot malibu areas from OC
I donโ€™t go hiking when itโ€™s foggy ๐ŸŒซ may be bc I find this kind of weather disgusting & depressing ๐Ÿšฎ

Whoever gave permit to the pilot that Saturday morning , should be investigated !!!
Rip ๐Ÿ’” to Kobe , Gigi & rests of the victims ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒบ SO sorry for the loss of these families ๐Ÿ˜ช

Normally someone always gets a gut feeling when something isnโ€™t right…
wondering if anyone said โ€œhey man letโ€™s wait it out and turn this thing aroundโ€

But obviously it was their time to leave us ๐Ÿ˜” because God had a plan of his own.

May they all receive the highest place in the heavens ๐Ÿ˜ž ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

  • Pilot error or airport error he should have never left the ground they should have never let him leave but being rich this is what happens

  • I dont know..i think not goin ask nobody goin to land that chopper.. Just so sad breaks my heart…did anyone hear about the guy on tweeter.. Nov 2012 said kobe will die in helicopter crash..send chills though me

  • Any one watch Top notch I say that dude anyone else say him rip the king kobe gone but not forgotten

  • Wild Man of the North now in the South says:

Nap of the Earth flights are difficult do to down drafts around mountainous regions
    Just possible it that simple

  • A chopper that expensive should have had a radar on it to ping terrain… Didn't even have a "Black box". WTF? Still, I wonder if the RPM on the rotor got too low causing it to fall? I'm no expert. Just common sense theory

  • LightsCameraJake says:

While this may have been pilot error, just remember before you start pointing fingers that everybody is human and he to had a family that lost somebody. No need to name call and say mean things.

  • Gloria Steadman says:

They shouldnt have given them that permission because they knew the weather condition was dangerous. Now nine peoe are dead that could have been avoided.

  • Traffic has gotten so bad in LA that it has come to this, the wealthy have chosen to fly to avoid sitting around in traffic.
From Orange County to Calabasas is about a 67 miles drive or just over an hour without traffic!
