Hello, my name is Alicia Fernández Rodríguez and welcome to Palacio de Granda News This week saw the return of the House competitions with the whole school participating in the European School Sport Day… Students from Infants, Primary, Secondary and Bachillerato took part this Friday in various sporting activities, representing their houses; Red, Blue, Yellow or Green. European School Sport Day is an initiative to celebrate sport in Europe, in which 8,500 schools, in 30 European countries are participating. It is shown that being active makes students healthier and better learners in the classroom. We asked Pablo González, head of the Physical Education department what European School Sport Day is all about… In Europe, the proportion of people who never exercise or play sport is worryingly high at 42%. Therefore, this a great idea to encourage students to do more exercise. Thank you for watching Palacio de Granda news. Goodbye!
