In addition to our general databases, we also have subject-specific databases. That includes source type specific database. I’d like to show you some of our newspaper databases. I’ll click Databases & Articles. Over here on the right, select News, if I’m looking for newspapers. And I get a list of just 8 databases I could utilize. CountryWatch is a little too specific, Explora, not quite right. But what I want to direct your attention to is this Newswires database, which gives us information from newswires over the last 30 days. And then Newspaper Source Plus, which has national and international newspapers, as well as radio and television transcripts. Let’s select Newspaper Source Plus. I want to access only those things that I can read in full text–not just the summaries, but the… full text of the articles. If I want to limit my date range, I can slide the date bar to the right. It automatically updates my list. Check out the subject headings, which will tell me more about each article. Click Full Text. Most newspaper articles come in HTML format rather than PDF. Most newspaper articles are not particularly long. But we can get current information here in the way that we cannot get it anywhere else.
