Multicultural Marketing Communications Director, Jose is Working at Comcast

We are brand stewards. We are brand curators. We are brand storytellers. [MUSIC PLAYING] I am the senior director
of multicultural marketing communications at Comcast. Within the sales and
marketing organization, the Marcom team is the
marketing communications team. We are responsible for
building the Xfinity brand. Right now we're on location,
shooting with Telemundo as part of a product
integration in which our Xfinity Home, Xfinity Internet,
and Xfinity TV product will be showcased in a
manner that it's seamless as part of the storyline. [SPEAKING SPANISH] OK. [SPEAKING SPANISH] [SPEAKING SPANISH] [SPEAKING SPANISH] The moment that you go
on set, it's so dynamic. Ready? [SPEAKING SPANISH],,
over the shoulder. OK. And set it close up. Mm-hm. [SPEAKING SPANISH] OK. The qualities that a Marcom
candidate should possess are always have a deep
understanding of the consumer. Be a team player. Be a strategic thinker. Be able to multitask, and have
a passion for entertainment and technology. [CHUCKLES] The folks at home
will never know. As part of the role
of communicators, we need to not only
create advertising that goes into the
marketplace, but we really need to understand
how is it performing to see how the brand is
delivering upon the promise that we're set for their
cultural nuances that will be able to connect with
me as a Puerto Rican or as a Hispanic but also to
each of the different audience segments that we serve. 40% of my time, I am traveling,
not only for production but also in meetings with
the different divisions, as well as going and
having conversations with real customers and
seeing what do they need and what do expect
from us as a brand. Whenever I see an ad, not
only online but also on TV, there's a sense of
pride that we did it. [SPEAKING SPANISH] [SPEAKING SPANISH] [SPEAKING SPANISH] [MUSIC PLAYING] I think that one of the pearls
of wisdom that I have gotten came from my grandmother. She used to tell me,
[SPEAKING SPANISH].. Be like the stars that you
guide, but you don't blind. To be a leader, you don't need
to force people to do your way. You just need to guide people. So I have read many
leadership books. But it's interesting
that the one that I go by is by a 87-year-old grandmother
back in Puerto Rico.
