Marist Pre-College: Digital Media


Have you always wondered about the world of
digital media, including basic principles of design and media
creation? Ever wondered how to create your own websites? Blogs, Photo collages, And videos? If so the Marist Summer Pre-College Digital
Media program is the right place for you. This two week program is a great way to learn
about the ever expanding field that is digital media. In this immersive program, summer precollege
students will be giving the opportunity to work with WordPress to make your own website. And fun software from Adobe Creative Suite
like Photoshop to make your own digital work. DJ I learned Adobe Photoshop skills and InDesign
skills to make websites with WordPress. This course teaches students how to analyze
and design websites, blogs, games, and videos. Students will get a chance to produce and
learn the key elements that consumers look for. They will also learn about how to lay out
images, complete blog writing and game design. Students will also learn how to tell stories
through their various projects and learn how the building process works to achieve the
final product. By interacting with guest speakers which include
digital media creators, photographers, filmmakers, designers and other media artists, students
will get a first hand understanding about digital media. Hattie: I decided on Digital Media because
I really liked the option, it was very hands on, creative which is what I liked. Georgie: Coming from London, I wanted a place
I thought would be home and Marist just gave that to me the moment I walked onto campus. If you have an interest in learning more about
the field of Digital Media, come and explore the PreCollege program at Marist this summer. Hattie: Its so fun interacting with people
and you have a pre like college life experience here. Georgie: Its and experience I would never
forget. I’m going to remember it for the rest of my
life.
