Keeping your personal information safe – Episode 5 – Heroes

[THEME MUSIC] Down
in the sea so blue, Hector wants to welcome you. With all his friends
we’ll learn a thing or two of technological
breakthroughs. Hector’s world. Hector’s world. We’ll have some fun and
learn a thing or two. Hector’s world. [MUSIC PLAYING] [CROWD NOISE] ANNOUNCER: Ladies and gentlemen,
boys and girls, please put your fins together for
our very own Mayor Shelton Shellsby. [APPLAUSE] -What’s the matter with Hector? He seems a bit sad. -Oh, I think he feels a
little bad about registering your details at
the games arcade. -Oh. -Oh, thank you. Thank you. Thank you very much. As most of you may be
aware, earlier in the week we had an unfortunate
incident involving a group of criminals widely
known as the info gang. These scallywags used
the carnival as a cover to trick visitors into signing
over personal and private information about themselves. AUDIENCE: Ooooh. -Yes, bad. However, due to the
exceptional police work of our very own Constable
Solosolave, and the help of a small group of
outstanding citizens, who we’ll get to it a moment,
the villains were captured and the activities were stopped. [APPLAUSE] -Now please welcome
Constable Solosolave to the stage to say a few words. [APPLAUSE] -Oh, good evening you fellas. AUDIENCE: Good
evening Constable. -Before I do what
I’m here to do, I just want to remind all
of you to stop and think before you do anything online. You younger ones should
always check with a caregiver or teacher first before giving
out your personal information, eh? AUDIENCE: Mm hmm. -Now ladies and
gentlemen, boys and girls, before we move on to the
official closing this evening, we have some special
awards to present. Constable, would
you do the honors? -Oh, of course Mr. Mayor. Our first award goes to
a very brave, very clever little fella. Who’s courage, good
judgement, and quick thinking were instrumental in the
capture of the info gang. Would Tama the jellyfish
please come up on stage? [APPLAUSE] -Wow. Gee thanks. [APPLAUSE] -I wish I hadn’t signed
Tama up at the games arcade. I could have put
him in real danger. I should’ve known better. Uh, I wish I could
talk to Qui about this. QUI (VOICEOVER): Hector? Hector? [BOOM] -Oh. Hi Qui. QUI (VOICEOVER): Something is
bothering you young Hector. Would you care to share? -Well I– I did something I
really knew I shouldn’t have. QUI (VOICEOVER): Oh? -Yeah. There was this info gang at the
carnival pretending to be good. And they tricked
people into giving out their personal information. I signed Tama up for a game
he really wanted to play, and it turned out the arcade
was being run by the info gang. Tama’s personal
information could have been put out in the
ocean for anyone to look at. I could have put
him in real danger. QUI (VOICEOVER): Did you
know that this gang would be misusing Tama’s information
when you signed him up? -Well, no. But I still– -And were you trying
to put little Tama in danger on purpose? -No Qui. I’d never do that. QUI (VOICEOVER): Would you
do the same thing again? -No Qui. QUI (VOICEOVER):
Then young Hector, you have learned
from this experience. There will always
be some people who want to trick us into giving
out out personal information for their own selfish reasons. Like this info gang. That’s why it’s important
for all children to ask a parent or teacher to
help you make that decision. -So even if someone seems like
you can trust them online, and even if you
think you know them, maybe you still
wouldn’t give out any of your personal information
without asking your parent or teacher first. QUI (VOICEOVER):
Remember, especially in this new online world we live
in, that people can sometimes pretend to be someone or
something you might normally trust. Like a bank or a
favorite website. Always ask an adult
you trust to help you make good choices
before responding. -Then we can have fun and
be safe at the same time. -Well done young Hector. -Thanks Qui. I feel much better now. QUI (VOICEOVER): It’s time
to get back to your friends now Hector. CONSTABLE SOLOSOLAVE:
Hector, Hector the Dolphin. Hector? Come on up here. -Huh? -Get your big blue
fishy tail up there. -Go on mate, get up there. [APPLAUSE] -For being a model citizen
and a caring friend to us all, the Silicon Deep
Police Department bestows upon you the position of
honorary cyber-safety officer. [APPLAUSE] -Keep up the good work, no? -Hector, you’re my hero. -And you’re mine Tama. [MUSIC PLAYING] -See you next year. [APPLAUSE] [MUSIC PLAYING] -Now you play safe, eh? [HORSE NEIGHING]
