How to fix slow internet—check your home cabling

Is slow internet dragging you down? The problem could be hiding behind your walls. The quality and set-up of your home's cabling can affect your phone
and broadband services. There are different
categories of cabling. Some can carry data around your home while others are only good
for carrying voice. If your devices use network cables
to connect to the internet, you may need to upgrade
to high-speed data cabling. Sometimes the cabling isn't properly configured, particularly in older homes. This can cause signal problems. Or perhaps the cabling
in the walls, ceiling or floors has become damaged or worn out. If you think your cabling
may be the culprit, talk to a registered cabler who will be able to check if it's up to scratch and get your internet back on track. For more information, visit acma.gov.au/telcotips
