  • At the moment I aiming towards a bilingual (Brazilian Portuguese-English) audience that's both can be stimulated by 3D visuals and or be interested in hiring me as a freelancer 3D artist. My question here (that is kinda answered in the video): is that a problem if I keep my "human view" and experiences or it's better to divide the public into two profiles? Tnx for everything!

  • My target audience is people who want to learn to grow some of their own food but can not with traditional methods whether it be because of financial or physical limitations. Cheap and easy, off grid hydroponics that anyone can do. No weeding, no tilling, no problem.

My target audience for my wife’s and my apparel craft business are people looking for custom gifts that you cannot go into a retail store and pull off the rack. About 90% of our clients are female between 19-50 years of age with kids or grandkids. They are looking for items with specific names or high school colors or logos. I need to increase my marketing strategy to make them feel comfortable ordering with us because we use top quality tshirts blankets etc. We use vinyl for the lettering and graphics with a heat press. We go the extra mile with the presentation by having a nice purple colored craft bag and white tissue paper as an accent when we deliver the goods. We try to make it feel like it’s a high-end product at a fair price that is accessible to everyone and to make people feel good about themselves and what they are purchasing for their friends or loved ones.

  • My target audience for this account I am typing on now is people who are interested in film and TV reviews. Most of the people i am trying to reach is the superhero fandom such as DC (CW) fandom. I want to make as much content here as I can without burning myself out and I sometimes miss my deadlines because of my 9-5 work which is my main focus because of the holidays coming up. I am doing the best I can to serve my audience here with excitement to them coming back to my channel and look forward to my content here. I enjoy the video Roberto! I also enjoyed taking notes because it will help me stay focus on making myself better with making the content I want to make for my audience here! 🙂

  • These tips work on ANY social media platform. It comes down to ATTENTION! If you pay attention to your people, your people will pay attention to you. Lol and you just said that in the video xDD.

As for my target audience, it is creative artists, filmmakers and gamers who appreciate storytelling and the culture behind on how this stuff is made. What I am looking to improve at is clarifying it better to my audience and anyone new who shows up.

  • I was planning to start a YouTube channel late last year offering tips and strategies on video production as that's what I do for living. My focus was gonna be on range from the beginner who knows nothing about video to the pro.

That was until I nearly lost my life last year as a victim of gun violence which resulted in 10 surgeries and 4 months in the hospital.

The whole experience has me wondering how I can fit my experience into a youtube channel as the fact that I survived and will eventually fully recover has been an inspiration to anyone I share my story with. I still want to create content in trh video production niche but now I have an entirely different audience and I'm not sure how to mix the two. Any advice from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

  • Adrienne Bennett says:

Great message Roberto. My target audience are women ages 25 -34 who have struggled to accept themselves and their bodies and are working on a self love journey. The value I bring is encouraging them on their journey with self awareness tips and how to create Self portraits.

  • My target is generally young (I'd say age 10-13 and then typically shifting older), specifically people interested in Minecraft. The goal is to entertain them around the content they already enjoy. As well as original formats that aim at leaving them with something to play at the end of the day. Some of the ways I aim to differentiate my content is by making it more visually interesting and keeping a pretty quick pace. – To be honest, I really don't know what I am doing. I just make content because its the thing I love doing, and people seem to enjoy it. I'd love for this to be more than a "hobby" at some point because I love the work.

  • Hi Robert— My goal is to provide workplace leaders with a steady diet of useful data and insights from the employment litigation and workplace food group.

My audience seems more likely to be on LinkedIn but the search capability and instructional nature of YouTube seems more appropriate.

  • What I'm really focusing on most as per (potential) 'future' video content, is… an audience of those who would like to save big on their daily expenses. This could be anyone, even those that are 'rich.' I'm not only focusing on daily expenses being common bills, groceries, at least one vehicle and auto insurance, a house/apartment… I'm also considering the ability to donate to non-profit organisations. My LLC/ORG plans would give its members the ability to buy high cost/ticket items and pay for them in full instead of making payments.

I really like the process of public speaking…

    1. Tell 'em what you're gonna tell 'em.

    2. Tell 'em.

    3. Tell 'em what you told them.

  • Tara Wagner Coaching says:

Great vid! My target audience is female entrepreneurs struggling with Impostor Syndrome and overwhelm. They’ve been in biz for a bit but are stuck and not moving forward due to self doubt and a lack of confidence. I coach them on how to create their own mindset routines that break through the fear. I also teach them better planning, organization, and leadership strategies so they can get off the hamster wheel and start gaining traction. These are all women who know WHAT they want and even what they need to do but just don’t how to overcome the initial fear of doing it, of playing a bigger game. I’m not new to this coaching (been a belief breakthrough coach for almost 10 years) but I am newly serving women in biz and LOVE it. I know these women cuz I’ve been self employed myself for nearly 20 years. They’re my biz besties, my colleagues, my collaborators. I’ve been in their shoes and get what they’re going through, and I actually know what they need to do and have tools that work. But I’ll telll ya, it’s harder to build on social now than it was 10 years ago! I started from scratch when I pivoted and regret slowing the momentum I had gained from previous social accounts! I don’t regret the pivot though. These women are who I’m meant to serve and I absolutely love it. ❤️

  • I produce clean comedy videos for people who are interested in awkward and satirical humor. Thanks for being a beast at explaining the YouTube game!

  • There is still a few months left in 2019 Roberto, with thanks giving and the holidays coming you have some time to prepare for some of the off time people will have. I sincerely wish you all the best for 2020 coming, you give allot to your viewers and it's apparent it is with heart felt and sincere wish to inform and empower those you share with. I would really like to see some creative tips and reviews from you on the things you enjoy about creating or production, whether it is lighting hacks or what you love about your gear and what sets it apart. Your videos always touch on methods and mindset I think some production and workflow tutorials as well as some brief reviews of the gear in you links would be a natural succession,. Once again thanks for sharing Roberto and best wishes for a solid year end and a successful and productive new year to come!

As always Great info🔥 Also glad you're feeling better! … Question of the day : I've realized I'm not looking for an audience.(it's a responsibility I'm not up to take on) Going to stick to making creative content for myself and creating a body of work/portfolio in hopes of joining a creative team. somewhere someday 💚💛❤️

  • Great method, really needed something like this. To answer the question, I run a motivational channel in India. My target audience is the people of the age group 15-30, of India. I post about the major problems these people face and try to discuss these in lay man language, so that everyone is able to understand my ideology.

  • My target audience are 18-30 year olds who play video games, as an escape from the harsh realities of life.

I'm going to serve them but playing games, providing them with some light entertainment with friends.

  • Good question: l am not sure. It is a tool to help an actual therapist. I don't plan to reach a lot of people. We just want to help who ever needs it and informational vids for client. But l can review this at the next meeting.

  • My target audience is adults aged 25 to 40 who like to travel or would love to. People who like to discover and learn new things about countries outside of their comfort zone and beyond the usual touristic spots and activities.
    Does it make sense?

  • My target audience are artists who happen to love anime style like me and the reason I'm not growing is because i only draw what i like and not necessarily whats popular.
I grew out of the anime community and i mostly go on nostalgia alone and i dont watch that much anymore.
I have to work on my engagement too my personality is too passive

  • Good morning Robert,
I Found that this was exactly what I needed this morning. I started a page all about positivity, And I am slowly in steadily getting a following. I started speaking to kids at school and I love what I do but, I know I need to grow my YouTube audience, how can I do that? Thank you, jtschronicles

  • I always try to engage comments I get, but I struggle to decide what to do with the comments that are just one emoji or similar. Should I just respond with another emoji?

  • Matt Gebresilassie says:

Awesome information for us creators to really think about. As far as my target audience, it’s Ethiopian and Eritrean families looking for motivation, life advice, and personal finance education. I’m trying to serve the community that I was raised in and bring them value.

  • Hello Roberto, another fantastic and helpful video! I appreciate all the great advice you give. I guess I've been following ICED so I'm happy that I'm doing it right. I know my audience is the Pokemon TCG community, I start my videos with an intro saying I'm going to be opening this in this video, I respond to every single comment in a personalized manner, and I deliver on the promise of what I'm opening and showing off on my channel!
I really think the engagement is huge! My channels subs that comment keep coming back video after video!

  • Catholic Marathon Mom says:

Roberto, thanks for this video, I receive so much from your videos. My target audience is: Moms who feel like they've lost themselves in the life they wished to always have. How/what will I deliver value to them: sharing tips & encouragement to see themselves as their Creator sees them. My struggle: I'm in the midst myself, so I don't ever want to sound "preachy" & in order to help provide for our family – how do I incorporate this into a business of sorts ?!

  • Ayeesha Abdullah says:

I think this ICED method was really easy to understand, thank you!

QOTD My audience is people who want to learn how to do art and people who are into anime/nerd culture. I want to provide value by showing how-to videos, review art supplies, videos about going to conventions, and speed drawing videos of popular/my own characters.

  • I have been aware of all of these points for sometime now, and I make it a point to practice all of them religiously. That having been said your presentation in this video gave me some interesting insight into my own approach on how to identify and clarify the things that my audience wants. I don’t know what it is about how you say the things that you say but it always sheds light On the things that I thought I already knew. Thank you for the information sir please keep it coming.

  • Question of the day: I have an issue identifying the needs of my audience, I’m not gonna lie about that. I started a YouTube channel simply filming my fishing trips and I want to grow that beyond what it is. My audience obviously enjoys fishing, time spent with the family and being outdoors. Now turning this into a service that I can offer has been difficult. MyAssumption would be that I have a wealth of knowledge about fishing and enjoying this area which is a tourist destinations. So I believe I should offer more insight into the things that vacationers can do, the places they need to visit and the tips and tricks that they need to know in order to get the most out of their time in this area. At least that is my thought at the moment.

  • Great method. This really clears things up for me. My target audience is the Make Money Online niche and how I serve them is by reviewing different methods that can help people make money online. My challenge is that there are TONS of other people in this niche, and most of them will review and promote anything just to make a quick buck. I want to stand out by doing honest reviews and promoting only the methods that actually work and can really help people achieve their financial goals. But it's really hard to separate myself from all the BS and the hype, know what I mean?

  • My target audience for my insurance channel is people that are looking for advice on their home and auto policies without being sold something.

I question if that is too broad or if i should stick to one state vs many. I’m licensed in many.

  • Jennifer Aboufadle says:

My audience: English speaking Mothers looking for bedtime stories or books for their 2-4-year-olds with characters that have Islamic appearance and stories that teach Quranic vocabulary.
I am not going to stop at 2-4 content. I have plans for tons of age groups. For now, my priority is 2-4-year-olds.

  • Great video as always, appreciate the acronym too. Mnemonics are great! Now that I'm almost a year into consistently releasing content I only just really honed in on my target audience within the last several months. As a band director at my church, I make content primarily for people who enjoy contemporary worship music, and occasionally I talk about the gear I use in worship settings, so secondarily I share information for my fellow church musicians! Since I've honed in on that I have started to see some small growth for my channel, but it's still slow. I think a good portion of that is on my time constraints, since I only really spend one day a week that I'm devoting to YouTube/social media stuff. I like that you mentioned engagement, because that's actually the next experiment I'm wanting to try, taking a few minutes a day to participate more in the community! If anyone's interested, I'll share my results after this next month =D

  • My target audience is those seeking the hidden knowledge of the occult thru esoteric wisdom. I proved this thru a non basis way from many different and often opposing views without picking or chocing sides and let the research speak for itself. With the end game to teach true freedom and restore the true meaning of the republic the usa was founded on.

  • What's up Roberto! I own a premier digital marketing agency based in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex servicing local businesses.
My business Persona is named newbie Nate. Newbie Nate has just started a business mostly based off of his emotion and drive with a great idea, but he Lacks basic knowledge on developing the internal mechanisms of his business that allow him operate in a proficient way with objectives and understanding goals. He is excited about his new idea although he is a little worried, and doesn't have much capital to invest. My agency is designed to solve that problem with meaningful industry-standard models, free value-based content, and affordable campaign investment plans.
I am a new subscriber to your channel and I must say I'm pretty impressed. I'm literally starting something out of nothing, I have a hope and a dream and so far I've had the tenacity to problem solve and get things done. I have one client right now who is a real estate agent. I'm confident, competent, and a problem solver. I could really use some advice and some criticism. Here's my website
Like you I'm a college grad who got tired of laboring for others. I'm knee-deep into and idea and drive and it's too late to turn back now. Any words good or bad would be much appreciated right now bro. I deeply appreciate your work and I wouldn't even be at this point if it wasn't for you. Thank you, and take care.

  • What a shame Mary Jane says:

I'm almost two years in my Youtube project and I still have to identify my audience. I've heard this advice a million times but nobody gives me a satisfying answer to my question: how do I identify my audience if I don't know them? Especially with YouTube this task is extremely complicated, since there is NO private chat at all. The only way I can communicate with my audience is via public comments and they often don't even have user names that let me understand where they are from or if they are male or female. Please someone tell me HOW can I understand who is my audience on YouTube?

  • 🔥Hello Roberto can you do a video on how to retarget an audience thats already viewed your videos? I have a video that broke 1 Million views recently (The Git Up Challenge). I want to send them content similar to what they came to my channel for to grow. Thanks for this awesome video👍🏽👍🏽

I would like any person to be able to look up a Prayer on any topic specific to them and they find it on YouTub. I’m committed to putting up over 265 prayers even if it takes me 5 years. • hi roberto I just wanted to say I noticed you upped the quality of audio on this video, I am an audio engineer, big difference.

  • I think my target audience is Artists and also people who might like the type of art I create (possible customers) and so I've been trying to do some quick art tips and drawing process videos and some insight videos on being an Artist, becoming an Artist also. A lot of people who find my videos seem to like to know how to draw simple stuff, such as logos and basic stuff, although I do have a plan to do longer detailed videos and draw more established stuff in between other work and reduce commissions or stop them altogether as they take too much time away from my own art projects that I want to achieve.

Great content as always. I haven’t been commenting lately because I’m one year into blogging this week almost 70 posts, one girl boss show and its 10-14 hours a day. I’m a lifestyle blogger, natural living, wholesome foods, handmade home etc. How do you get the algorithm to notice you more? I know YT is king, not there yet. Would love more videos how to start YT and get over self-doubt. I know you have touched on that many times…feel better. Get some elderberry juice, it’ll help. 🙂

I teach them topics like energies and chakras in a way that is easy to understand. Making it easier to navigate the confusion that is a spiritual awakening.

  • Wonder Wander Ponder with Julie says:

OH how I love an acronym! Thank you Roberto!
AUDIENCE: people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, their families, friends and educators. It is also for those that feel alone, left out, and/or want a sense of acceptance and belonging. How is that for broad?!
MESSAGE: we all have value, we are more alike than different, and embrace our unique differences.
CHALLENGE: posting during an emotional time in my life (recently lost my sister to cancer, just laid off this week, Dad's in hospital, sister's kids…). I have so many ideas, big visions and projects, and in attempting to do everything – I touch everything but finish little.
Sorry – my point here is THANK YOU – this video has really helped me to articulate all this that I've just dumped on you. This is my kick-in-the-butt moment 💖 Keep up the good work, Sir!

  • Mårten Johansson says:

My channel is about fishing and my target audience is people who wants to learn how to catch more fish. It doesn't matter if you are a total beginner or an experienced angler, my target is to teach you how to catch more fish. I have two things I want to improve on:
    1. I want to get more views from outside of my home country (Sweden)
    2. I want to be able to publish videos more frequently. Doing pedagogic films takes time, and the fish are sometimes unpredictable, which means that I often end up doing the same filming two or three times just to get some proper fish on film.
Any ideas of how I can improve would be appreciated. I have been thinking about publishing "less pedagogic" films (because they are quicker to make) in between the pedagogic videos, just to get videos coming more frequently. Would that work? Do I need to speak english in my videos to reach abroad, or will people think subtitles are enough? If people think subtitles are enough, why is it so hard to get views from other countries, is it the thumbnail and title of the video that matters?

  • I've been thinking about this a lot. I'm sure my target audience is movie lovers. There's so much content for them so I'm struggling with finding my lane of what content to provide. I see so many other channels that provide content regarding a specific movie genre(horror, action, etc) but I like really good movies no matter the genre. I suppose I'll keep searching for inspiration. Thank you for your content, Sir, you're always on point!

  • GenerationOfLost says:

Hi Roberto, I've just found your channel and loving the content your putting up at the moment! I've only just started Youtube and trying to soak up as much information as i can, currently im just trying to find ways to give a professional look to my videos with only my phone and no proper editing software, but im sure ill get there if i keep trying! So… in answer to your question. The content i want to create is to help people that are in a depressed or anxious state of mind, and aspiring to do something bigger than themselves but feel like their stuck. So i suppose my target audience is exactly that, people who feel like they're in a rut and want to make a difference to their lives! I've recently come out of a 10+ years of being depressed and lost in life, and ive had a lot of time to think about how to improve my life, and i came a very long way from the start of those 10 years. Now i can finally say that im no longer depressed and actively pursuing my goals! 😀 So how i serve my audience is by making them feel okay about the feeling they've been having and relating that to where i've been in the past, and what things i did in myself mentally and physically in order to make myself feel happier and work towards my goals! Day 1 of youtube completed, hopefully a long way to go and ill keep chugging on! Keep up the great work dude!

  • My target audience is teens and young adult girls and women who love creativity, writing and a story that isn't over saturated with gooey, sticky 'romance' or the awful 'she don't need no man' trope. (I am a lady, and I hate these things.)

I am going to be writing adventure books about a young girl who becomes a hero on her planet. I am also toying with the idea of either blogs or videos talking about the writing process and how to create female characters that feel and act real. I also do art, which could help to illustrate my points while I analyze characters in popular shows and movies.

  • My target audience is people that need a boost in confidence, who have trouble sleeping, needing help with concentration(studying) and many other elements. My commitment to my audience is to upload weekly with the best content I can deliver and to keep learning, keep replying to all the comments & keep pushing harder to bring better content to the table as our journey continues.
Thanks for the awesome content Roberto!

Target audience is gamers of DragonAge on this channel, and I've committed to delivering one theory, analysis or lore video every week, with fun extras later on in the week, so 2 videos a week. I deliver (also in podcast format) one episode per week, and I do things more like seasons. So I take a break between the holidays and March. That is how I can manage having two active channels. Should I try to have shorter videos on that channel so that I have more?
