My current role is digital media association in Glanbia so basically, I work in the digital command centre in City West, in Dublin and there we use a social media tool called Social Studio. So this tool is a really powerful tool. It lets us look at all social media platforms of any of the brands within the Glanbia and any of our competitors as well. On a daily basis I would monitor that platform and make sure that our consumers or anybody that’s tweeting about our brand, speaking about it on Facebook or even on Instagram – any mentions we have and I would look at that and then I would get insights from this and we would just make sure that our content that we are pushing out as well is actually valuable to our audience. I studied the Commerce Degree in UCD for three years and then following that I studied the MSC in Marketing Practice in Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. The MSC Marketing Practice is also known as the marketing development program and here we got to work on a lot of live commercial projects and within this year I got to work on many social media projects and that’s when I really got a keen interest in social media. I saw the Glanbia role and really loved the culture of the company and what the Graduate programme actually had to offer so I applied for the role and here I am today. Communication skills are very important and also the skill to be adaptable to new situations is extremely important. As the digital world is really fast-moving and everything’s changing on a daily basis, So it’s important that you keep up to date with all these technology changes and you keep up to date with anything that’s actually thrown your way. I would recommend students to develop their learning set skills going forward into the workplace. Skills like communication and creativity are really important. I love everything about my job, it’s really different every day, I learn something new and my team are great. Everyone in Glanbia is so nice to work with. The Glanbia Pure Ambition Graduate Program have a three year career path mapped out for me. I’m starting off as a digital media associate now, working across a number of different brands within the company. I just plan to upskill every week and learn something new and see where it brings me.
