Dubain prinsessa Latifan puolesta mielenosoitus | Radio Suomen Päivä

Radio Finland It would be good to
end the suffering of millions of women who live all
around the world in countries where women’s rights
are in their infancy. These are the words
today in the heart of Helsinki at the Three Smiths Statue, where there is
a demonstration on behalf of Princess Latifa. The event will call for the
release of the Princess of Dubai who has had no contact
with the outside world. Here is Nelly Furtado,

Nelly Furtado’s hit song “I’m Like A Bird”
on Radio Finland Day. At Three Smiths Square in the heart of
Helsinki, a protest has been scheduled in the morning for the release of
Princess Latifa of Dubai. The demonstration was
organized by the Finnish division of the human rights
organization Amnesty International. Who is Latifa, the Princess of Dubai who
became famous for her escape journey from the United Arab Emirates
with the Finn, Tiina Jauhiainen? The journey ended with an Indian Special
Forces assault off the coast of Goa. The demonstration continues
with Mira Stenström. In Helsinki, the morning is grey and the
statue of three blacksmith has gold cages. At the moment, in the country and between,
people hold in their hands the contrast between the golden bird cages couldn’t
be greater. Tiina Jauhiainen you helped Princess Latifa
escape from Dubai. What do you want to say
with these golden bird cages? These golden cages reflect the life of Latifa
that, after all 33 years of her life, she has lived like a golden cage. And worse than five years of these, she’s
been in captivity just because she’s wanted freedom and a normal life. Frank Johansson, Executive Director of the
Finnish division of Amnesty International, What is currently known about the
whereabouts and condition of princess Latifa? The last photos of her were
taken in December 2018 when
the former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mary Robinson,
visited the family on a very strange visit. In those pictures, Latifa looks very unwell,
but, of course, it’s impossible to tell what the real situation is. After that, there has been a
year of complete silence. In practice, therefore, Latifa has disappeared,
against her wishes, somewhere. We do not know what has happened,
and almost 17,000 people in
Finland have demanded to know her whereabouts and that she be
released and that those responsible
for human rights violations, for abuses against her must
be brought to justice. In Helsinki, these three statues
are an expression of protest. What do you think, what kind of
demonstration is this against the ruler of Dubai? I believe that all these different expressions
of protest and various petitions and struggles are campaigning for freedom. Yes, it helps Latifa as her video does, because
her father only cares about his reputation. It’s important to him, and all
this negative publicity will come to be bad for his reputation. He hated Latifa made a video of this kind
of thing in which he told me if you saw anything happened how
worried you are your friend. I am very concerned that it has now been exactly
19 months and 13 days since the raid on an escape ship off India. I’m afraid to give again in prison he
suspects human treatment and he makes direct torture what kind of life signs or
signal he is hoped to receive now. I’d like Latifa to be able to leave Dubai. She should be allowed to go to the country of her choice, where her
human rights and security can be guaranteed – Johansson. – Yeah. What kind of
dialogue do human rights organisations, for example, have with that ruler at the moment? Is there any communication? So we are able to visit the weak,
and we have criticised the country for numerous violations of human rights, but
the dialogue is poor. Now, for example, we have written. Ambassador and asked for an audience so that
we could give up, but we haven’t received any kind of response. After this expression, we are not trying. with booze, go ring the doorbell and see
if we can get in and give up. any discussion today is not
expected if one comes. We are ready, of course, but we have
great doubts about Tiina Jauhiainen says that what she hopes to happen now. What does the Human Rights Organization wish. What progress would be
made with the princess? Of course, there is a hope for her release
and for her to be free to communicate to travel according to her own wishes. It is the least we demand on a broader scale,
which also asks that the laws of the UAE be changed in such a way that a man is not
entitled to treat his wife and children this way, because at present, for example, legislation allowed
a man to discipline his wife. so that we are looking for the broader social
changes in the country and not just talking about one person here. This is what Frank Johansson, Executive
Director of Amnesty’s Finnish Department. The journalist there in the centre
of Helsinki was Mira Stenström. Radio Finland Day

  • It would be a thing of honor to his Majesty if he would show that he is a loving father by freeing his daughter despite what she may think of him, he should set a worthy and positive example to his kingdom, doing otherwise does him no good.

  • حلوة الحرية فعلا دائما البنات والنساء ضحية لجرائم الأهل او الزوج مع الأسف 😔
