9AM America's Newsroom 7/30/19 | Trump Breaking News 7/30/19 Fox News Today July 30, 2019

it's ten minutes guys will see the top of the hour in America's news you breaking news happening right now at a Walmart Mississippi word of a shooting inside that store this is South Haven about 13 minutes south of Memphis Tennessee so just over the state border the police department now you're seeing the first images live here confirming the suspect has been shot that person's condition is not known police also confirming there are multiple injuries it is not clear if there are fatalities so we're watching this now it's the latest we have apparently occurring about 30 minutes ago so stay tuned for more on that in the meantime let me get to this battle over Baltimore could be shifting to Virginia today President Trump getting ready to leave for Jamestown to attend a historic event there some Democrats say they will boycott it and that is where we begin today as we say good morning from New York City I'm bill hemmer we've got a big show for you today hope you're great at home hey doing Smitty it's a big show for suit let's get going I'm Sandra Smith any moment now the president will be departing for Jamestown Virginia to mark the 400th anniversary of American democracy but in the backdrop the Trump comings feud is growing by the minute the president doubling down on his attacks on the top Democrat and his district saying his administration has given Baltimore sixteen billion dollars in aid in one year alone so while Democrats continue to hammer the president on race some allies are coming to his defense on that score president is concerned about the whole nation we have a president who is listening and I was glad to pray with him today when we told him the things that he could do we need this country needs healing he's right sometimes he's never given credit from doing anything he's brought more attention to Baltimore in the last 72 hours and lives of Cummings has brought to Baltimore in a very long time if he calls out anybody other than a white male he's immediately racist he's immediately sexist he's immediately xenophobic or homophobic or you know whatever they want you know that's what the Democrats do and people are tired mark Meredith live at the White House with more on all this hey mark good morning and good morning to you Sandra we do expect the president be making his way to Virginia here within the next couple of minutes we're expecting them to maybe make some comments as he leaves the White House possibly weighing in on this back and forth which and Maryland congressman Elijah Cummings the president has repeatedly criticized both Cummings and his Baltimore district the president accusing Cummings of ignoring the needs of his constituents and instead focusing on the oversight of the Trump administration President Trump is called Baltimore a disgusting rat and rodent infested mess he did tweet again about Cummings late last night this is what the president had to say quote Baltimore's numbers are the worst in the US on crime and the economy billions of dollars been pumped in over the years but to no avail the money was stolen or wasted asked Elijah Cummings where it went he should investigate himself with his Oversight Committee Democrats have blasted the president's tweets as racist some Maryland Republicans including the state's governor have also called the comments outrageous civil rights activists Reverend Al Sharpton blasted the president over his use of language but he has a particular venom for blacks and people of color he doesn't refer to any of his other opponents or critics as infested he does not attack their districts the president later labeled Sharpton as a con man Republicans up on Capitol Hill they've been forced to weigh in on this controversy that's really engulfed Washington the last couple of days I don't think either congressman Cummings or president Trump or racist I think that they they disagree but you can disagree with someone's ideas but not disagree with their color I don't blame the president Trump for for being upset the president's comments have outraged some state lawmakers though in Virginia the state's legislative black caucus says it's going to be boycotting the event that's happening in just a couple of hours from now in Jamestown over what they say are repeated attacks on minority leaders Sandra mark Meredith at the White House where we await the president's departure any moment thank you Mark I was called unpatriotic on American and essentially treasonous by a couple of left wing pundits I was accused of aiding that the very man I've singled out as an adversary this is the state mr. president of left-wing politics in 2019 they have nothing left but the most unhinged smears welcome to modern day McCarthyism McCarthy liked tactics out in the open for everyone to see that went on for about 20 minutes and that is about as livid as you will find the Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell rally against media outlets accusing him of being a Russian ass said this after McConnell blocked two election security measures that have passed in the house Stephen Hayes Fox's contributors in from the cold back with us today great to see you my friend how you been bill welcome back thank you did you missed this I bet I did go ahead and frame the McConnell argued about those who are going after him as a Russian asset well I think I think you framed it up exactly right i mean that is Mitch McConnell as angry as you're gonna see Mitch McConnell I think what he did was give a 20 25 minute sort of thorough dispassionate debunking of the claims that he's somehow a Russian asset that he's somehow doing the bidding of Vladimir Putin both by walking through his history on Russia and before at the Soviet Union and also taking on the the people who are making those kind of attacks and calling into question the things that they've said previously about civility and about not making ad hominem arguments for me he said the smear that I'm a Russian asset ran into pending page of Washington Post he specifically cited the colonists date of Milbank he says he rarely does that but he did it yesterday the accusation I'm an American was broadcast on MSNBC Chuck Schumer then went after McConnell watch I still don't have a really clear idea why leader McConnell is so adamantly opposed to doing anything on election security maybe it's because President Trump in his childlike way resents the fact that people point out that Russia interfered he thinks it D legitimizes his President shall election but that's not a good enough reason if that's the case so I will point out that Bill had one Republican supported in the house and I think that the the Republican from Michigan is now leaving the party Steve yeah look at me to think this this was trumped-up outraged by the Democrats they tried to make a big deal out of what was a rather routine proceeding in the US Senate and they got called on it I think Mitch McConnell called him out now I do you think Chuck Schumer has appointed me the president has sent mixed messages you remember his performance with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki where he seemed to take the side of Vladimir Putin over the US intelligence agencies and he's repeatedly refused to embrace in the way that most elected officials have embraced the findings of the US intelligence community so I think Chuck Schumer's it's fair for him to make that mistake it's it's something altogether different though to suggest that Mitch McConnell is a Russian asset it's just silly and it's the kind of language that I think people are getting increasingly tired of the thing I just I don't know what you observed from afar you've been in Europe for what about a year year and a half year yeah you observe now and when Trump hits back he hits back and you wonder if other politicians are learning the same technique now yeah I mean I think that's right and to a certain extent this is something I think Republicans are long overdue in doing and I think there there has been a long time in which Republicans didn't hit back now I would make distinctions in the way that the president sometimes hits back in the way that is is more effective to hit back I would say it's better to hit back with arguments with facts with data than with ad hominem attacks and name-calling but that is something I mean I do think you know having been away for your having watched what's been transpiring here in the u.s. that's something that's sort of striking you see a lot of heat you see a lot of accusations you see a lot of back-and-forth and you don't see much light and at least to my read you don't see much progress on some of the huge problems that we're facing with regard to election security I think they've spent upwards of 400 million dollars it primarily a state responsibility to but correct they're gonna be hearing a lot about this over the next 15 minutes welcome home son thanks Steven hey is there in Washington DC nice to see another big story that we're watching today as the second round of democratic debates kicks off just hours from now this stage is set in Detroit where senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren are expected to battle it out along with eight other rivals the state of Michigan one of the hottest contests in 2020 a state you'll remember President Trump narrowly won in 2016 Kristin fishers live from Detroit at the site at tonight's big debate at least the first one as well Kristin good morning to you good morning Sandra yet tonight will be the first time that the two leading progressives in this race will be side by side on the same debate stage right now senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders are really competing for that same far left lane in the Democratic primary but yesterday Senator Warren insisted that tonight things are not going to get ugly but I want to always talk about my vision this isn't about Democrats firing at other Democrats Bernie and I've been friends forever what I want to do is talk about my vision and that vision is similar to the one proposed by Bernie Sanders free college eliminating student debt Medicare for all Sanders campaign has been very critical of another 20/20 contenders new health care proposal senator Kamala Harris who announced yesterday that her plan would allow people to keep their private insurance even though she raised her hand in support of getting rid of it during the last debate in Miami Sanders campaign manager said quote call it anything you want but you can't call this plan Medicare for all so health care is going to be a huge focus tonight along with the economy for the more moderate candidates like senator Amy Klobuchar tonight's a chance to contrast her more down the middle agenda with those on the far left better work he needs to have a really big night or else he risks losing even more momentum and money after that poor performance in the first debate and you may notice a new face in this lineup Montana Governor Steve bollock will be on the debate stage for the very first time this cycle one other change to watch for in tonight's debate tonight the moderator the moderators will not be asking the candidates any questions where they have to raise their hands and is really gonna deprive president Trump of one of his favorite moments from the first debate because those moments will he show in an instant just how far the field has moved the left on some critical issues like health care and immigration Sandra really sets it up for us Kristen Fisher in Detroit where everything begins tonight thank you and and likely the economy is gonna be big and Bernie Sanders expected attack on Carla Harris's health plan it's gonna be a big one Heights we'll see where we will have the dust settles on Thursday right Thursday morning foxes alert back to what we're hearing now they're shooting inside a Walmart Mississippi Southaven Mississippi south of Memphis about 13 minutes suspect has been shot that person's condition is not known we're hearing about multiple injuries not clear if there are fatalities you said we're watching this and we'll get you more word in a moment when we get word from the police there in Mississippi in the meantime 11 past the hour got some more breaking news too coming in three other big stories we're watching now one of the largest data breaches in US history targeting the personal information more than 100 million Americans one hacker one hacker managed to crack the system of the major commenting on the ongoing feud with Elijah Cummings and his district which includes Baltimore in the ongoing feud there the president has just made some comments on his departure I'm trying to get an update for you on that but we are told he is talking Baltimore we're gonna have that news for you any minute we're gonna play back the president's comments when we get them people will be paying in in some cases more in taxes but overall because they're not going to pay premiums deductibles co-payments they'll be paid less for the health care people don't want government or anyone to take away their choices my medicare-for-all plan will allow private insurance to be a part of our plan if they play by the rules so this can be a big issue Kamla Harris splitting with Bernie Sanders on Medicare for all despite co-sponsoring the plan along with other several several other Democratic hopefuls Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services the administrators seem averman welcome to our program and good morning to you I know you can't comment a lot on the candidates will let's keep away from candidates stay on the issue Medicare for all is that a reality for America in 2020 well I think the discussion is about the future of the American healthcare system and who do we want making decisions about our health care do we want Washington making decisions about our health care or do we want Americans and American patients making decisions that are going to work best for them okay so here is Sanders and Kamala Harris side but they're just generically okay premium is that household incomes he's a twenty nine thousand she's at a hundred grand transition period he's four years she's at ten years according to her plan released yesterday private insurance Medicare Advantage and Medicare certified sources that's what you get there and I get can't comment on candidates but these are these two senators are going to get a lot of attention for the issue and you and you wonder if health care is the one issue that defines the primary season for the left well I think what we're seeing is just versions of government-run health care whether it's public option or Medicare for all it's all about the government being in control and making decisions about our health care and Washington making decisions what the president is trying to focus on is a vision that puts Americans in control making choices about their health care just yesterday we released a proposal about price transparency and this was built off the president's executive order that he does last month and what CMS proposed in reaction to his executive order was essentially proposal that would require hospitals to post cost information so that patients on the front end can get information they can understand what they're gonna pay before they get hit with a bill on the back so you would you would allow people to shop for health care to get a better deal that's exactly it you know there's so much variation in hospital charges I was just reading this morning that for a lower back MRI you can get that service in Louisiana for a hundred and forty-one dollars but in California that same service cost forty seven thousand dollars and so there's so much variation we want to put patience and charge making decisions and giving them the information that they need to figure out what's going to work best for them as we know the America how do you soon we're going to shop around how does that help the consumer how does that make their life better well I think it lets them it gives them the ability to shop around for services and lets them shop around for the best deal there is so much variation and they don't have this information if you think about it in every other sector of the economy you know prices before you're going to buy them buying a car you're getting an airline ticket you have that information on the front end and what President Trump is trying to do is tackle some of America's most pressing health care challenges and price transparency has been out there for a long time and American patients have been in the dark and we're trying to turn the page on that make sure that they have that information on the front end seaman Verma thank you for your time it's just a proposal we'll see how much we'll see how far you get with it thank you for your time today from CMS my pleasure thank you Thanks the president's talking to reporters right now on his way to Virginia he's taking lots of questions as you can imagine especially on this battle for Baltimore on that specifically the president has just said Cummings has been there for a long time it's corrupt you just have to look at the facts spending so much money Baltimore is an example of a corrupt government I feel so sorry for the people of Baltimore the president says millions have been given to Baltimore and so much has been stolen the president pointing out all this money going to Baltimore and he wants to know how that is being spent talking about an investigation into that the president also is taking on China and talking while weeks of debate over how much the US Soccer Federation pays the women on the national team that Federation not making the case it's been paying female players more than the men's national team in recent years here's the claim 34 million in salaries and bonuses over the last eight years the men's team earned about 26 million over that same period so the Federation's making the case difference of about 8 million dodge Judy this is a legal battle by the way it's a legal fight being contested so we'll see interesting you see where this goes a lot of attention to themselves and their pay so we'll watch it meanwhile under this one of the largest data breaches in history targeting 100 million Americans after a personal data was stolen from Capital One customers investigators say they have arrested one woman behind this massive attack Robert gray is live from our West Coast newsroom with what you need to know to protect your information help us out hey good morning Robert hey good morning Sandra you know authorities claim the Seattle software engineers still personal date of about 100 million Americans and six million Canadians from capital one it's one of the biggest breaches of a bank in history now an FBI complaint says the hacker got information including Social Security numbers and credit scores of about one hundred and forty thousand of those people 33 year-old Paige Thompson allegedly accessed the bank's data back in March through a faulty firewall she was caught after leaving a digital trail of her alleged crime on the Internet bragging about it online Thompson uses the handle erratic she's been charged with one count of computer fraud and abuse the former Amazon Web Services employee identifies herself online as a hacker now Capital One CEO Richard Fairbanks said in a statement while I'm grateful the perpetrator has been caught I'm deeply sorry for what has happened I sincerely apologize for the understandable worry this incident must be causing those affected and I am committed to making it right now the bank said most of the exposed data involves information submitted by customers and small businesses that apply for Capital One credit cards going all the way back to 2005 into early this year it includes addresses dates of birth and self-reported income the nation's fifth largest credit card issuer says it will contact people affected by the hack and offer them free credit monitoring and identity protection now other steps you can take check your statement and report for any suspicious activity to your bank or credit card issuer you can put a hold on your card and even your credit reports of course you have to change all those passwords and importantly don't give your information out over the phone or respond to emails that ask you to log in make sure that you initiate the contact through the official website or phone number and of course senators you may expect that stock looking like it's gonna be under pressure at the open back to you minutes away from the opening bell and Wall Street robber great thank you and it's important to point out that this isn't just card holders or account holders is also if you applied it for an account your information are there and it just shows the vulnerability that is out there because we're giving our personal information so oft it defies logic and think that one person could do all this yes and that's the power of a computer right now all right Fox News Alert roll this police are now searching for two teenage fugitives wanted for murder in British Columbia we have an update today on that hunt plus there's this roll it you want to see those 401ks and all your stocks and all of the things that you and you want to see him deflate put a good socialist in this position well that was President Trump Barton storming through battleground Michigan back in March Democrats prepping for their big debate tonight in Detroit so will their message resonate in the Rust Belt we're gonna ask our next guests to the chairwoman of the GOP in Michigan also right in the middle of Shark Week on Discovery Channel we'll talk to a deepwater daredevil it was come face to face with some of the largest creature's you will find anywhere definitely don't want to touch her under the nose that seemed to trigger full-on open mouth in your face you chyna the Fed it's all wrapped up there and you will hear it in a moment here on America's newsroom so it is finished as I said and once we get the tape in-house we'll play it for you all right 932 now in New York we've created since my election 5.5 million new jobs nobody would have believed that was possible we passed massive tax cuts the biggest and the history of our country America is now the hottest economy anywhere on the planet Earth is nobody closed president Trump touting the economy as the second round of democratic debates hits off tonight in Detroit two top-tier candidates Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren expected to steal the spotlight but can they recapture the industrial Midwest which wait for President Trump in 2016 are now feeling economic gains from his policies Laura Cox is the Michigan Republican Party chairwoman she joins us now thanks for your time this morning we know the president just got done talking to reporters we'll hear from him in a moment but he's taking a lot of credit on the economy can he win Michigan again this time around oh yeah absolutely we believe that he is a track record 2.2 that has successes that affect people's families and their businesses and their neighbors in Michigan we think that that's really important so we're really happy about all the things he's done fighting for the strong economy here in Michigan you know fighting for veterans you know making our wanting to keep our country safe and our borders secure all those things mean something to people we believe that we will again reelect our press the economy in Michigan rebounded as much as those and we know there were a lot of them that flip for Donald Trump in 2016 because of that promise of jobs in the state of Michigan has it rebounded enough for them I want to read you this directly from Politico why a strong economy will actually help Democrats in 2020 they say some observers have speculated that voters will abandon trumpet they feel that despite his self-congratulation on the nation's overall economy he delivered on his promise of new jobs for them I want to throw up on the screen here the Michigan unemployment rate it is currently 4.2 percent that is above the national average of 3.7% nationwide the state of Michigan also currently has the 11th highest unemployment rate in the United States it has come down obviously and you have to point that out from four point nine to four point two percent says Trump was elected but it's still high above the national average well you know the economy is going in the right direction in Michigan you know we have billions of dollars being reinvested here in Michigan we have a plan moving from Mexico to Michigan we have a manufacturing plant being built in the state of city of Detroit that hasn't happened in years decades so you know unemployment is at record historic lows in Michigan the trend is going where it needs to be and we believe that the president's policies directly have positively impacted the people of Michigan and we're really excited to talk about that I want to remind everybody as this debate kicks off tonight the reason is Michigan is going to be a hotly contested state in 2020 here's a look back at the results in 2016 to remind everybody of the razor thin margin that Donald Trump won by forty seven point five percent to Hillary Clinton's forty seven point two seven percent what is going to be the biggest challenge for your party in securing his victory well you know the number one rule of politics is to keep what you want the campaign is very invested in Michigan we're starting our ground game it's strong we're starting eight months earlier than we have in in history that I know of any presidential election I've been involved in politics for a very long time we're really excited we feel that we're gonna talk about all the successes that the president has brought to the people of Michigan when we talk about that we think and we put that against all the socialist policies that the Democrats continue to talk about they keep going more left each and every debate once we talk about that we know that'll be an easy choice at the polls in November of 2020 Detroit Free Press Macomb counties Michigan's political promised land in the 2020 presidential race and it's gonna be about the economy Laura and I know that's that is what you see as well and you look at the poverty rate there in addition to the unemployment rate above the national average but as you point out coming down michigan's poverty rate still stands at fourteen point two percent that too is higher than the national average at twelve point three percent so there's going to be a lot of discussion tonight on the economy Laura the president was just asked again we'll have this tape for everybody in just a second about the democratic debate and who he believes his Democratic opponent ultimately will be he said I'm watching I think right now it will be sleepy Joe what I think doesn't mean anything but he does think that Joe Biden is off his game who are you preparing for the president to ultimately run up against in the general election well we're just preparing to talk about the differences in the policies and what they will talk about right now I don't have my eye on anybody I mean that's something that's a little bit above my paygrade we're staying focused on talking about all the successes and how different they are from the policies that the Democrats are putting forward and I think when that conversation gets very finite between whoever that candidate is that that wins from the battle on the Democratic side I think then will be able to be laser-focused but they all seem to be very similar and talk about socialist policies like open borders making socialized medicine you know people don't understand that they will lose their employer provided health care that's very important we're gonna have the breaking news from the president here in just a moment and and just want to let our viewers know we reached out to the chairperson of the Democratic Party in the state of Michigan as well but thank you for coming on Laura we appreciate it thank you thank you very much sue Fox News Alert now on this massive search and a remote community failed to find two teenagers wanted in three murders Canadian authorities still believe they're nearby leading many to question how they are surviving Laura Inglewood our report here in New York Laura well it was one week ago today Royal Canadian Mounted Police made the announcement of their significant shift in the investigation that two teenagers who were at first believed to be missing were actually the suspects in there case since then the manhunt has taken Canadian law enforcement agencies along with the country's military on a massive search through rugged terrain to find eighteen-year-old Breyer Miguel ski and 19-year old Kim McLeod the two were spotted on video surveillance nine days ago at a store where you can clearly see their faces as they exit Canadian Police announced there had been a possible sighting in York Landing police say the unforgiving terrain and remote locations of sightings has made their search challenging but they are using every resource they have frontline TAC members who are trained in searching were out there also so we're using our specialized our team also what you guys would call SWAT and we've called in the military as well we want to use every available resource that we have to try and catch these suspects before they do any harm to anybody else the two teams are wanted in the brutal highway murders of tourists Lukas Fowler and American China DS and University professor Leonard dick you are encouraged to call 9-1-1 if you have any information back to you Laura thank you Laura angle on that story here in New York in the meantime we're watching the White House and watching the president making a move toward James temperature obviously all this is happening in with the backdrop of the growing Cummings president Trump feud on the situation in Baltimore we know that as he was leaving the White House and spoke to reporters he had a lot to say on that here's the president we have people over negotiating with China see what happens they're gonna make a great deal and we're not going to make it deal at all but a lot of great things are happening and including in China our country has gone way up in terms of its differential with the number one economy in the world picked up commendably in the last three years since I've been here so a lot of great things are happening a lot of really great things happening the economy is through the roof I guess we'll hopefully get good decisions from certain branches of government we'll see what happens but we have a lot of good things happening we were just speaking with the Department of Commerce and we have interests in our country like we've never had before now Baltimore's been very badly mishandled for many as you know congressman Cummings has been there for a long time he's ever hands on it it's a corrupt city that's no question about it all you have to do is look at the fact the government is pumped in over the years billions and billions of dollars to no avail to absolutely no avail Baltimore is a is an example of what corrupt government leads to billions of dollars have been given and I feel so sorry for the people of Baltimore if they ask me we will get involved so we're already involved from the standpoint that over many years billions and dollars have been given to Baltimore it's been misspent it's been missing it's been stolen with a lot of corrupt government and as you know in charge now I will say this I think that representative coming take his Oversight Committee and start doing oversight on Baltimore he'd find out some real thing and on the bed what's the rate cut see though the talks are moving China but they were often with China but China always makes a new deal at the end or seems too we're taking in billions and billions of dollars from China as a form of tariffs our people are not paying for it china reduced their currency they devalue their currency and they're pumping money is in order to pay for it they had the worst year in 27 years they've had a terrible year because of the tariffs a a lot of companies are moving out of China and you've never seen this before the United States is doing phenomenally well it would make it in tens of billions of dollars for from China we're giving some money to our farmers who have been really targeted by China to do a number of them and because they like me the farmers like me and I love the farmers and I will say that the farmers are very grateful the most they've ever spent on agricultural product is 16 billion dollars so when they pulled out I could just a small part of the money that China's paying us and I gave it towards the farmers and the farmers are very odd the pet move in my opinion far too early and far too severely it puts me at a somewhat of a disadvantage fortunately I've made the economy so strong that nothing is going to stop us but the Fed should have made it a lot easier I would like to see a large gut and I'd like to see immediately the quantitative tightening stop limiting stop for them to have done quantitative tightening and also higher interest rate simultaneously I think was a big mistake I also think that has they not done it as good as we've done we've set a record as you will tell as you will save in the stock market we have the gold time high in the history of the stock market I think I would have been 10,000 points higher and I think we would have been in the fourth with GDP President Obama had zero interest rate we have normalized since res res with zero and res rates anything happens and yet we still blew his economy away not retaining zanuck I don't talk about that I just I'm very disappointed in the Fed I think they acted too quickly by far and I think I've been proven right people said I was right they were wrong the Fed is often wrong that is often wrong The Washington Post called Mitch McConnell what I think the washington post is a Russian asset by comparison Mitch McConnell loves our country he's done a great job we're trying to pass an infrastructure bill it's being written up right now as we speak for our highways and our roadways Mitch McConnell has gotten more judges than probably any I mean in all fairness with my help but as a combination we've got up we're going to be up very soon to a hundred and seventy nine federal judges nobody's ever seen anything like that and other than George Washington we'll end up having the highest percentage of judges put on the court and it's going to be a legacy Mitch McConnell is a man that does less about Russia and Russian influence and even Donald Trump and I know nothing so I think it's a horrible thing when a paper which is really just a paper for the benefit of Amazon The Washington Post is fake news just like the New York Times is fake cos it's put there for the benefit the washington post of amazon that's my opinion and i think it's a disgrace and if they actually said that i didn't read it if they actually said that that Mitch McConnell is an asset of Russia they ought to be ashamed of themselves and they ought to apologize [Applause] well I think right now I am watching I think right now it will be sleepy Joe I think I feel he'll lift across the line that's what I think so what I think doesn't mean anything but I know the other people I know him I think he's off his game by a lot but I think personally I think it's going to be sleepy Joe no I think I'm helping myself because I'm pointing out the tremendous corruption that's taking place in Baltimore and other democratic run cities what you have to do is look at the past Bears in Baltimore see what happened no I think I'm helping myself and I'll tell you what the White House and myself and letters and emails and funko have received more phone calls than I think on any other subject of people from Baltimore in other cities corruptly run by Democrats thanking me for getting involved those people are living in hell in Baltimore they're largely african-american you have a large african-american population and they really appreciate what I'm doing and they've let me know it they really appreciate it and by the way the numbers just came out unemployment for african-americans is the lowest it's been the best numbers meaning in the history of our country the lowest in the history of our country but people have called from Baltimore thanking me so much because all that money that's been spent over 20 years has been stolen and wasted by people like Elijah Cummings well I have a great relationship with Brazil I have a fantastic relationship with your president and he's a great gentleman he was here as you know fact they say the Trump of Brazil I like that that's a compliment and by the way I think he's doing a great job it's a tough job but I think the president is doing a fantastic job he's a wonderful man with a wonderful family yeah we're going to work on a free trade agreement with Brazil Brazil's a big trading partner they charges a lot of tariffs but other than that we love the relation [Applause] the White Russian opposition leader Alexei foundation apparent Roger I go I've heard about it I don't know about it but I'll find out about it this is new I heard about it last night nominee well John Ratcliffe is a brilliant man he is a wonderful person I spoke to him long before about this long before months ago I spoke talked long before the Muller Fiasco that was a fiasco I think probably nobody in the history of Capitol Hill has embarrassed themselves like what Muller did to himself and to the Democrats but John Radcliffe I spoke to him about this for a long time he's a very talented guy he's a strong man it's what we need in that position [Applause] I am the least racist person there is anywhere in the world when cotton man who I don't know you know almost all my business life because I had to deal with him unfortunately of New York but I got along with him al Sharpton now he's a racist he's a racist but when people when people let me explain to you what I've done for African Americans in two-and-a-half years no president has been able to do anything like it unemployment at the lowest level in the history of our country for African American nobody can beat that you look at poverty levels that doing better than they've ever done before so many things operated Opportunity Zones criminal justice reform President Obama couldn't get it done it was done really the biggest beneficiary probably is African American I got criminal justice reform done President Obama couldn't get it done no other President was able to get it done what I've done for African Americans no president I would say has done now I'll say this they are so happy because I get the call they are so happy at what I've been able to do in Baltimore and other Democratic run corrupt City the money has been stolen what they've done it's been wasted and it's been stolen billions and billions of dollars and the african-american community is so thankful they called me and they said finally somebody is telling the truth well I think the biggest problem to a great deal is China would love to wait and just hope they hope not going to happen help but they would just love if I got to beat it so they could deal with somebody like Elizabeth Warren or sleepy Joe Biden or any of these people because then they'd be allowed and able to continue to rip off our country like they've been doing for the last thirty years China has been taken out hundreds of billions of dollars a year with our country and now what I've done with the tariff is number one that had the worst year they've added 27 years yesterday's Wall Street Journal the worst year in 27 years companies are leaving China by the thousands and their prices are coming down and I will tell you this China is dying to make a deal with me but whether or not I'll do it it's up to me it's not up to give you well I think John is willing to give up a lot but I've got the living I'm willing to accept it I think of China had their wish they wait till after the election they'll pray that Trump loses and then they'll make a deal with this step somebody that doesn't know what they're doing like Obama and by like all of the Presidents before because what they've done is they just fix our pockets in the nation that's not happening with drum [Applause] that's okay well I think if that's the case I'd be shocked but if that's the case they're fighting against their people because the african-american people have been calling the White House they have never been so happy as what a president is done not only the lowest unemployment in history for African American not only opportunity zones for really a figure at the biggest beneficiary the inner-city and not only criminal justice reform but they're so happy that I pointed out the corrupt politics of Baltimore it's filthy dirty it's so horrible and they are happy as hell so you may have a couple of politicians boycott but it's all a fix it's all effects the fact is African American people love the job I'm doing is I'm working for them I'm not working for the politicians [Applause] oh absolutely it's what he should do what Elijah Cummings to do is he should take his Oversight Committee bring him down to Baltimore and invest all of them and really study the billions and billions of dollars that's been stolen it's been wasted it's been stolen they ought to take that beautiful waste of an oversight committee go down to Baltimore and other Democratic run cities and take the lefeve you can find the billions that have been stolen [Applause] [Applause] my relationship with Kim jong-un is a very good one as of June you've seen we'll see what happens I can't tell you what's going to happen I know one thing that if my opponent was president if Ji Won you would be in a major war right now with North Korea and we are nowhere close so we'll see why I have a good relationship with him I like him he likes me we'll see what happens at the right time I'll visit but the people of Baltimore are very thankful they have let us know by the thousands of people because of the fact that finally somebody is pointing out how corrupt Baltimore is how billions and billions of dollars have been stolen and the ones that like it the best what I'm doing are african-american voters those are the ones like President Trump on is Wayne out of Virginia for an historic event to answering questions from reporters making a lot of news there as the feud between Elijah Cummings and the president continues to grow by the minute on Baltimore he said Cummings been there for a long time that city is corrupt they're spending so much money to no avail very specifically he was asked if he has any regrets when it comes to Baltimore he said no do you think you're hurting yourself with the Baltimore comments he was asked he said no I'm helping myself because I'm pointing out corruption in Baltimore he took a victory lap on the economy talked about the number one economy in the world and then of course talked about the Fed interest rate cut this week said he hopes for a big a few more things with the back and forth Elijah Cummings who said he's governed there with an iron hand for the last 20 years billions and billions of dollars on the district the district is really large it involves the Baltimore Harbor and involves the Johns Hopkins Medical Center and it also involves West Baltimore we've seen riots a few years ago in deep deep poverty 22 percent the nation's at 12 percent and the crime rate there has been bad for some time with regard to the economy watch this story too because the feds gonna an all likelihood cup tomorrow we think about a quarter point in the afternoon we'll see how the markets react on that yeah the Chinese negotiations continue and this Mitch McConnell thing is gaining steam he was asked about the Washington Post calling him a Russian asset the president said The Washington Post is a Russian debates tonight in 2020 he was asked who do you think your Democratic opponent will be he said I'm watching I do believe right now it'll be sleepy Joe he does feel he'll make it across the finish line but he doesn't know for sure that he's off his game and we'll see how that goes this week right two more things here then we're getting to Kevin cork down in Virginia John Radcliffe has taken some heat even from some Republicans said John Radcliffe is a brilliant man he's done up for some time not just with regard to the bowler hang about a week ago but several months prior to that with regard to Al Sharpton he's a racist I said the president said a moment ago he is not backing away from this fight as all at all and certainly not apologizing from what was started over the weekend on Twitter and the criticism of the president being racist he said I am the least racist person in the world said the president a few moments ago and now we welcome you all to a brand-new hour at America's newsroom I'm Sandra Smith that's the last hour or something here we go I'm Bill Hemmer good morning everybody straight to Kevin cork live in Jamestown Virginia where the president will arrive momentarily hey Kevin good morning never a dull moment obviously you guys have a great show already let me just say this Virginia's black state lawmakers are actually boycotting today's commemoration of 400 years of representative democracy they say because the president will be here I want to share part of a statement it is lengthy but I just want to share this little snippet for the folks at home bill he said this or they say this rather as we celebrate the beginning of American democracy we must recognize that it is the government by of and for the people built on the ideas of personal liberty justice and the rule of law the president's words and actions demonstrate that he does not share or embody these ideals interestingly both Virginia Governor Ralph Northam and Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax will take part in the festivities today although it's highly unlikely the men will be photographed anywhere near the president you know how they expose and politics so you'd have to expect some sort of acknowledgment but we'll see otherwise White House officials by the way guys tell me that for the president this is a chance not just to celebrate the incredible history that this event represents it is also a deeply personal reflection of the many great strides our country has made and continues to make even as it continues frankly to struggle to become a more perfect union we all know that a union I should add arguably and increasingly politically fractured take for example the back and forth between the president and Baltimore Maryland congressman Elijah Cummings whose district as you know has drawn the president's attention of lanes tremendous corruption that's taken place in Baltimore and other democratic run cities what you have to do is look at the past Bears in Baltimore see what happened no I think I'm helping myself and I'll tell you what the White House and myself and letters and emails and phone calls have received more phone calls than I think on any other subject of people from Baltimore in other cities corruptly run by Democrats thanking me for getting involved those people are living in hell the president talking about the conditions in Baltimore also mentioning quite pointedly the billions and billions of dollars that have been sent to congressman Cummings district he wants to know what happened to the money it doesn't seem to be making a difference we expect him to take a tour in the eleven o'clock hour right Matt and then obviously he'll be speaking here as we get that I promise to pass it along but for now guys back to you Thank You Kevin Kevin cork there live in Virginia back to you shortly Kevin thank you sir let's bring in our a team charlie hurt opinion editor for The Washington Times and Fox News contributor AV Stoddard associate editor and columnist for The Real Clear Politics and one Williams co-host of the five and the Fox News political analyst good morning to all of you we all just took in the president's words together maybe why don't you start us off here with your response to the president this morning well I think he was prepared to do both things which is to sort of triple quadruple down on his message about the corruption in urban democratically run cities but at the same time probably do a little bit of damage control I think he's taken a few phone calls maybe from an anguished congressman mark meadows we know reporting has shown that the staff is a little concerned some of them about whether or not this was politically injurious to the president and so you saw him try to make the case that he's been the best president for african-americans instead of doing things
